Vista Icons Pack v2.0 Ultimate - System Patch

Recommended Posts

I would like to give an advice for the system tray network icon.

I got a DSL Internet, so when it connects, there is a radiowave like sign in the tray, which is gray in color, it's hardly visible on a black color taskbar, & most of us using vista skins are probebaly using dark color taskbar. I found some icons in your Vista Ultimate pack 2.0, these....

can u change the system tray network connection icons to these insted

also, on a dark color taskbar, the connected network blinking icons, those 2 computers are not visible, in default XP they were in blue color, it would be a lot better, if u could change the blinking color of these icons to dark blue, like that in vista my computer icon (the monitor) that would be visible everywhere, or even better sky blue

I also, m in favor of the logo change

As for this XP logo, sorry guys. This my mistake  Will be repaired in next version.

In VIPv2.1 i make monitors blinking (not very bright, but enough to see status).

About Wave-icon: this (gray) icon is right from Vista (as i remember FebCTP) and I think it must be looks great with black bground

ok, the waves should be the way they are, & the monitor, better make it blinking blue, that would be clearly visible

Hye, I have made some file types & folder icons for vista, they are not much like the original, but they match nicely, do u think, they can be bundled as another pack with this pack, if u want, i can post a preview here

I plan to make Folder Pack (Include folders for various needs).

Post a preview here

the folders are made, depending on the application i normally use, while some are made seperate, i used images taken from your vista icon pack 2.0

I don't like the idea of putting the logo inside the folder doors

about the network icon in the system tray, it's all black in any black color taskbar. Can u plz make it, blink blue like previous windows XP inbuilt it's quite confusing

i rezhacked that and the dll file with the wireless one. Much better now :D

If you know what you're doing, i'd recommend just fixing that yourself.

Ok, you'll need to open Netshell.dll (in windows/system32) in resource hacker and locate icon 216-223 (i think theres on or two in there that you dont need to change) and you replace them by right clicking on the "1033" and choosing replace resource.

When you're all done, save-as to somewhere in your root cdrive or whatever. Boot in safemode and replace the original (after backing itup, if you dont trust yourself)

Repeat the same procedure for xpsp2res.dll for the wireless icons (34-57 i think)

Enjoy, hope it works out for ya....

@kudesnik

any ideal on a time frame for the updated system patch since 5365 has been released?

and about the network icon blinking in the taskbar tray it needs to be a color (the one blinking) that will be visible in blue, green, silver ect... because this is a xp system patch and lots of people still use the default msstyles sometimes such a s the royale theme and luna's 3 colors and not always a blackish vista theme i know i do when i'm tired of looking at a theme color plus there are dozens more themes out there that people use with these color types and if there like me they love the new icons but just want them to fit in.

thats just my take on it tho other than that its one of the best system patches i ever used with 0 problems.

I have no Vista 5365, but when I have it, will make update for VIPv2. But I think it will be over 2-3 weeks (I really don't know).

About monitors... will make it like in 5365.

But I use VIPv2 with blinkin monitors with Royale theme and I see everything...

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
    • Maybe ? DLSS Swapper (can swap the DLSS/FSR/XeSS versions) as long as the game (typically online/competitive) doesn't checks for file tampering. You can try different version(s) or update if not the current version of the FSR. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper
