Vista Interim Build To Be Released Monday!

Recommended Posts

In OE hit the newsgroups button up top and select double-click on the NG you want to see added to the list and it will resubscribe to them.

I will just post this here to debunk a few things Unknown User is saying

It's one of the only times you will catch me even somewhat violating NDA.

This is a direct quote from a Microsoft Employee in regards to if we should expect a new build soon.

"Absolutely...8, 7, 6, 5.

Might be a good idea for folks to do some 'prep' to their computer this

weekend..."

You realize she said this on Friday, probably meaning we should backup all pertinant data over the weekend and be ready for release after the long holiday weekend. My guess is as early as Tuesday or as late as next week there will be a release judging from the tone of the NG's.

You could have cropped it. About 80% of the picture is useless.

only in low res....my laptop is high enough res that almost the whole thing is visible.

I barely even had to scroll lol

Yup she said that on friday.....and she has never been a tease.

also the word she used was prep.

A prep means a format as well as backing up the data.

no way would she have us waste a week.

I've known her for a long time.

I'll belive there's a new build, when it appears in my connect. I don't care what ANYONE On NW says ... cuz no one I trust on NW has said anything ...

And as for your "MS Employees" ... I have a dozen of them. Yup, all just under Bill. AND if you belive that, I have some land on the moon for sale, AND a bridge in Toronto

If you're really a tester then you should know how many employees we have access to.

That or you're one of what I call the "freeriders". They only are testers because they want bragging rights.

Those testers typically don't know anything about the system or who we talk to.

I do not post lies and I do not exaggerate.

No room for discussion on that point.

0o0o0o0o0 Ima report you f0 breaking y0 NDA, ma

But sadly, its true anyways. Now we'll just have to...wait..s'more ;) :(

Seems interesting that we have 2 different answers from 2 diff employees

this is getting more than a little strange.

My thoughts exactly, but if someone, as has been posted, was pranking Paul D et al, then they both wouldn't know and ofcourse Paul's message to the NG's (I didn't say that) isn't gonna mention that he has been pranked....but what if it's a double bluff!!

i got this from another site (which linking is not allowed here, so i won't do it :p)

New builds are *not* the only thing we're working on for you BTs--got lots

of other testing goodness up our sleeves and I am hoping that we'll be able

to tell you about one today.

hmm

Could you please, kindly remove the post from the newsgroups. Names are supposed to be private, I believe, and the newsgroups are meant for testers only...

This is at the risk of sounding elitist, but that is NOT my intention... although admitedly it does look like it.

*cringes and waits for all the flamers*

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
