Vista Interim Build To Be Released Monday!

Recommended Posts

The talk in the newsgroups is of tuesday, and if anyone remembers the quote: "New builds are always released on the second Tuesday of the week", we might have another day to wait.

We will see, but the release of the Dezember CTP was a Monday. I hope they will release it today.

Editing this myself to get rid of the flames I had posted for Unknown User.

I'm not even going to waste my breath on going into why he's wrong and will be proven wrong.

Needless to say if you really are a tester you will know why.

Morph how do i subscribe to the n.g. again?

LOL.

Morph how do i subscribe to the n.g. again?

In OE hit the newsgroups button up top and select double-click on the NG you want to see added to the list and it will resubscribe to them.

I will just post this here to debunk a few things Unknown User is saying

It's one of the only times you will catch me even somewhat violating NDA.

This is a direct quote from a Microsoft Employee in regards to if we should expect a new build soon.

"Absolutely...8, 7, 6, 5.

Might be a good idea for folks to do some 'prep' to their computer this

weekend..."

Now considering who this employee is, this person would never have a tester nuke a perfectly valid install of a build just for fun.

As said Unknown User is full of crap.

As I was posting this UU proved my point by editing his early post to have in it that he could have been wrong.

Now wouldn't a Project Manager know what's going on? ;)

Also just want to state that there is not just one PM as he's making it sound. There are SEVERAL.

All the programs function that way.

Three people have already said the same thing as me.

LOL STFU. haha

Until your 'MS Employee' is Paul Donelly, I couldnt give a rats ass what you think.

Actually how is this.

If you can tell anyone who posted the quote I put above I will be astounded.

Until then YOU can STFU.

How about this....what's your connect ID? You post in the NG's and we will see if you are even a tester.

If you're not a tester than your opinion means less than dick to me.

Why don't we wait RTM and then explore the new Windows?

Anyway....

There will be a lot of corruptions, performance and other problems with Windows GUI...It is rendered by GPU, and it a lot depends of drivers. I guess the drivers has to pass WHQL certification, LDDM model. Even so i can bet in my $3000 PC Box that there will be GUI problems all over.

Apple did it using OpenGL API. Well, OpenGL is different then DX. 10 of 10 OpenGL games are running with no problem, requiring no different set of the drivers in order to have all games running correctly. 3 of 10 games supporting DX9.0 api will run fine, the other 7 will have different kind of problems like stuttering, texture corruption, generally low frame rate, crashing etc etc. DX is crap from the starting point, which everything was build on. I agree it brings all these nice features, but when all together is put into action...hm well go over nvnews and rage3d and ask them :D

I'm done with the gaming after Vista is released, and openGL is oficially dead for PC, Windows. It will be time to move to Mac OS for professional work, and get PS3 for gaming.

It's good Apple made available Mac OS on any PC platform, so i don't need to buy a new box.

It's funny how XBOX360 performs. It got a lot of diseases from PC (OS, DX API). There are games where everything seriously slows down...hmm Quake 4 for example etc...

Its coming out today, my guess that source that said 1PM EST meant PST which will be 4PM EST ;)

This was posted today, http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,...,1950156,00.asp, so thats why I think it's coming out today.

    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.

    • I've never even heard of this browser before seeing this article. How does it differ from other browsers?
    • Fixing things? Have you ever tried linux? Everything works out of the box nowadays in most common hardware. This includes Wifi and Bluetooth. If anything, if they return back to windows is because they haven't found an equivalent program which often used on windows.
    • 18 months ago I bought the 4TB variant for $380 CDN. Now it is $1500 CDN [$949 US].
