I don't know, I quite liked it though there are a few bugs that annoy me. Some of them are:

  • Tab Convo. Where are they? IE7 has already got tabs so why can't WLM have tabs? It would sure save space on the taskbar, and also separate it from the other IM messengers offered on the internet.
  • When you change the colours, the conversation window doesn't change much or not at all. It doesn't look nice for me and annoys me a lot.
  • Windows Live Today. Why they had to bring back this useless feature is a mystery to me. Have they gone bonkers or are they just trying to torture us?
  • Some of the icons do not look as polished as the others. Open the Contact Card and see the sharing folder on the bottom left of the screen to see what I mean.
  • Windows Live Messenger logo. You can see it is a bit jagged on the edges but I expect it will be replaced once it is out of beta.
  • 3 Way video would be nice although I have never had a stable video connection from Malaysia to London. I suggest they should improved that department first before branching out.

The UI is impressive for me but I still think it needs a bit more work for it to function properly. I'm eagerly waiting the next version of WLM 8 Beta :D  .

Why Yahoo? - am i missing somthing here? - surley microsoft would team up with Gmail, not yahoo?

lol no they wouldn't. This is just another way to get rid of the competition. More people using WLM = better for Microsoft obviously. Google are their biggest rivals, and there's no way they'd team up.

Anyway...I can sign into WLM with my Gmail account regardless, so it doesn't really matter.

    • It is remarkable how hearing Japanese can inherently elevate the perceived quality of any experience or product.
    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
