I jus noticed another new feature.

I clicked the arrow to hide the display pic in a convo window before, now, hours later, program been closed n computer rebooted a couple times even, in a convo with an entirely diferant person, theyre still hidden.

Thats awesome, messenger actually remembers whether you hid them or not n applys it to all convo windows not just the one. Love it.

I just realised....

in this new version.. all though the logo in the top left hand corner is tacky and the old version.

if you press "Windows Live Call" button - there is the new logo.

Wow that's a huge and tacky logo. The MSN logo in version 7.5 is much smaller and smoother -- it actually looks nicer with it on the contact list window.

I agree, the 'new logo' looks stupid. The one on this leaked version looks fine as it is, it jus needs to be a bit sharper.

NO LINKS.

Posting links will earn you a warn and restriction

Sorry but... when you click on the Screenshot: >> Click here << Link on the News from Neowin there: https://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=32887

You get this page...

Also the second link point where to get it...

I think that the GMods should talk with the news posters ... :s

Yeah I don't like this at all.. :pinch:

Correct me if I'm wrong, becuase I just noticed this while browsing options.

If you go into options and then the Messages category... You'll notice the option "Show 'contact says:' before every message is unchecked. I assume that if you check it, it'll behave the way it usually does.

when i play songs in winamp it seems to be broken for me again... i can only c the song name not the artist....

it works fine from WMP tho... mhmmm

i had the same problem with the winamp plugin not working right but i downgraded my winamp plugin to version 0.23 from http://www.myplugins.info/msn-messenger-plugin.php and it seems to work again

I think it's pretty spiffy so far... I do hope that they give you lots of options for customizing the way it looks and acts. It would be pretty cool if you could choose how the color scheme would look (faded, solid, etc). Overall I think it's going to be a pretty good deal.

This is the build of MSN 8.0 I have used/been using for some time now. It's a bit buggy but it works and I prefer the design of this to the screenshots of the later builds that I have seen.

I think that is reeeeally ugly

And nice try on tryin to hide the downgrader

i think the how it bundles all the msgs together should have a bit of a timer like all the msgs within a 20sec span will get bundled into one msg.. cause if they msg later it should make it a new msg... i liked the idea but a timer would be nice....

they need to make an option to place just "-"'s for a msg so it will look like this:

[My super-very-long nicknime without any sense...] says:

- Hello there

- Not answering?

- Hellooooooooo???

He says:

- Yes yes here i am already. BTW how are you?

This is a multi line msg. As you can see no "-"'s were added.

Just to include as an option in messenger

- It would be nice because it gives you better overview possibilities...

(please PM me correct spelling, i need to study my english a bit more...)

    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
