PS3 2005 vs PS3 2006 - WYSIWYG

I get ****ed off when people don't look at it properly....

Yeah so there isn't 2 HDMI sockets, I don't even need 1...

The USB thing has ****ed me off BIG time...

No one shows the front of the machine from last year or this year. Last year there was only ONE (1) USB port on the front, there are now FOUR (4)!!! So there is actually more than before...

Last year there was 2 on the back, now there are none, so they've moved those 2 to the front and added ANOTHER one!

:-/ dumb

^ Actually you can use many USB WiFi adapters with the 360 aswell... where did you hear confirmation you could use ANY HDD with PS3? I'd like to hear the source for that as all I've heard is they are still considering.

So that hard drive is a standard PC drive?

ATA, bog standard, yeah.

And as WelshBluebird says, no you can't use any usb adapter for the Xbox 360.

The only USB WiFI adapter you can use with the 360 is the offical MS one, as USB adapters need drivers, and the drivers would need to be written for the Xbox 360, which currently none are, and I doubt MS would allow other companies to produce USB WiFi adapters for the 360, as it would mean MS made less money.

The only things you can plug into the Xbox 360 to make it wireless, is the official MS adapter, and most wireless ethernet bridges.

Actually, it is not the only one. You can use a couple of more adapters than the official MS one.

Now I fully admit the list is not a long one, and it should be much, much longer.

But you can use some Linksys models as well...

Wireless Bridges

The following wireless bridges have earned the Xbox Live Compatible logo.

Microsoft MN-740

Linksys WGA54G

Linksys WGA54AG

Linksys WGA54G (v2)

They never even mentioned a wired controller existed at E3 last year, and they didn't mention the "Core" or standard 'Xbox 360' SKUs either.

If those are the biggest 'lies' that MS had then, lol I think we got off easy...

Where did you hear that? because you can't.

I use my wireless bridge without problem. Interesting on the usb wireless adapter though, more people should complain.

There's a difference between USB wifi adapters, and wireless bridges.

The only USB adapter ypu can use is the offical MS one.

But any wireless bridge (which plugs into the ethernet socket on the 360) should work.

I'm a little late, but I saw a 3rd party USB wireless adapter for the 360 today at Best Buy. I can't remember the name of the company, though. It retails for $79.99. Even though I wouldn't use it, I still think the 360 should've been wireless out the box.
