The world has ended like 6 times or something since 1999. First was the eclipse, then was year 2000, then dunno what in may 2000, and so on. And my dad told me when he was young people went crazy because planets were aligned in a line or something.

I'm sure the world also ended in year 666, year 1000, 1666 and with every little eclipse or something. People's crazy.

6/6/06 is less evill than year 666, or Jun6/666, or things like that. Why 2006 and not 1006?

It's generally accepted by biblical scholars that St John the apostle (the author of Revelation) was writing to other persecuted Christians in code, and that the mark of the devil, or '666', signified those in thrall to the emperor and thus opposed to Christianity. It's most probably the numerical equivalent of the ancient Hebrew letters for 'Nero'.

And anyway, why should the western world's means of counting days have anything to do with a book written about someone else's imaginary friend??
