You guys think thats amazing?

Europe 1, USA 0 ; )

That is nothing more than an offshoot of Voipbuzzer and the many other programs/sites that company has put out. If it's anything like the others they limit free calls to 1 minute and you have to buy like 5 euro worth of credit to get free calls.

Hrm maybe its detecting your IP wrong or something.

hmm that could be it.. It doesn't show as US.. Still if PR is included it should work anyways. Probably is an ip issue that is affecting a lot of US isp's as well. What is you isp If I may ask? Just curious

I basically emailed back to find out how long they think it will take to get it fixed. If i was paying for the service i migt be a bit upset. but to be quite frank i am in awe of their customer service :woot: . their replies have been recieved in the shortest ammount of time I have ever experienced and i'll say again, im not paying a penny. Its a bit crap that its not working, but at least, on the surface they seem to want to keep up the customer relations.

I'll post back when i hear something

 I agree, their Tech support seems fantastic, especially considering how overwhelmed with all the calls and emails they must be getting.

Well I woke up this morning and it was working. The CS rep said that they are also having problems with the ISP's themselves, trying to limit VOIP for bandwidth reasons.

If it still isnt working, i would encourage you to email their tech support. less than 12 hours later, and its fixed.

Yay, I just called my GF, who is in LA for the week, for free. YAY!

Like I said I am located in Toronto and my ISP is ****y bell

hi!

Iam not in US, any idea to call to US free by Skype?

Thanks

No, right now you cannot call the US from outside the US for free, and I know of no other way to do it. However, if this promotion works for them, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen down the road.

In the first link I appear under the US but the second one shows me being in PR. I'm guessing that you're using Adelphia/Onelink? I'm on DMAX. I guess I'll try a proxy.

Side note: I think I remember seeing you on dsl libre.

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.

    • No thanks! WebView trash is unacceptable. I only use software that's native.
