June Desktops - 2006

Posting Guidelines:

* If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it under 100k (It's recommended that you link it, externally).

* Stay within the board rules, no matter how yummy you may believe it to be.

* If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc.

* Off Topic Posts will be edited or removed.

* The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post images of a pornographic or otherwise provocative nature. We do not support a babes forum and neither will we in an unofficial capacity. Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone.

* The moderators of this forum reserve the right to edit or remove your posts as necessary so they may comply with our Community Ruleset.

* In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:

Themes: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Wallpaper: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Icons: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

Programs: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).

* Please use reduced-size thumbnails, where possible, out of respect for people running on lower bandwidth or screen resolutions.

Important Note: Any image posted that is over 800 x 600 will be removed! Use a thumbnail or use a text link to your image. If your image is removed, this is why.

Happy Dapper Day!

Wallpaper: Ubuntu 6.06

Window Border: Frozen

Icons: Human (changed the Ubuntu logo to a pair of feet just to make sure I don't think this is Ubuntu because it is NOT, it's still Fedora Core 5, but I just show alleigence to my former kind by using their beautiful artwork!

Since tristan asked I thought I'd post the info on my desktop (two posts up) here... I probably should have done that anyway, but oh well.

Window decoration is Knifty

Icon set is Crystal Clear

Wallpaper is the default Dapper wallpaper (I think?), I got it from Viper's Ubuntu art package

The dock-like thing is Superkaramba running a modified DynBar theme

Firefox theme is Mostly Crystal

Umm... and I think that's about it.

Giving XFCE 4.2 a spin (since I couldn't get 4.4 to work...)

Window Manager: ClearLooks 2.0

GTK2: ClearLooks 2 - Ubuntulooks Engine

Wallpaper: Golden Harmonics

Icons: Tango

Bah, that's nice, but don't judge XFce on the usage of 4.2, the new version offers so much more :)

WOW!

You have won my first ever June "Best XGL Desktop" award, THAT IS THE BEST XGL-Based SETUP I'VE EVER SEEN!!!1!1 Man, my newer computer can run XGL (as I found out with that Live CD), but the computer I run Linux on is half as powerful, and has an older ATI video card...
