SAV32CLI, is a 32 bit free command line scanner used in an emergency as a disinfection utility for Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003. SAV32CLI 4.06.0 (June 2006) includes detection for 122634 viruses, trojans & worms.

To use the Sophos command line software follow the steps below:

1) Download SAV32CLI and extract the contents by double clicking the file.

2) Add the latest IDE (virus definition) files to the folder. These can be downloaded here

3) Reboot the infected computer and press <F8> when it is starting. In the Windows 2000 Advanced Options Menu select the option Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

4) Read Scanning Options with SAV32CLI

New in this version

* Filename extensions CAB and XSN, which are used by Microsoft Cabinet files, have been added to the extension list, so that Sophos Anti-Virus scans such files by default. In addition, when archive scanning is enabled, Sophos Anti-Virus now scans INSIDE Microsoft Cabinet files.

      Thanks to some of the other recent Windows improvements, I'm optimistic about this one. My quick wishlist would be: perf like the older menu, merge both menus or at the very least, the older menu should be a flyout, not a simulated click to the old menu, and lastly, a customization window to let users move items from one menu to another, so I could bring Send To back to the main menu, and the OneDrive settings to the older.

      They used AI based TOOLS to convert the JavaScript engine (the main rendering engine is still C++) and it was not fully automated but was human reviewed. Other subsystems will be looked into to also be converted to Rust in the future. I have no problem with any of that.
