Did the iPod survive, btw? LOL

Haha. Unfortunately, I don't think iPods fare well with holes in them.

And the other article (linked by Shof) said he saw the storm coming in from somewhere else and didnt think it was there yet. He thought he had another 15 minutes before he had to go in.

-Spenser

Is this article is writting by a 14yr old?

Why? Is it not up to par with 12 year old is journalistic standards?

The question we must ask is this: Did the ipod actually "attract" the lightining, or did it just increase the damage when the boy was struck? I think that the earphones acted as an insulator, and were exposed to such extreme heat, that they ended up melting...

So the morale of this story is: Wear headphones.

And I question the integrity of this article:

"and now it seems that the popular DAP may also make you an attractive target for the cruel wrath of Mother Nature."

"Although its not clear whether the iPod he was listening to acted as an antenna for the bolt of lightning that ran through his body"

Uh oh looks like a contradiction

Time to encase the iPod in rubber.

Put a giant iCondom around it.

OMG! Every time you buy an iPod God fries a teenager!

Save a teenager and stop buying the evil iPods!:laugh:h::rofl:l::p:p:shifty:y::whistle:e:

More proof iPods are evil. Kids gets raped, ganged up, beat, killed, stabbed, robbed, jacked etc when using iPods. Now they even get hit by lightning bolts when using iPods. See? Never get iPods

God, now people are going to be stupid enough to think it was the iPods fault he got struck. I think that article was extremely anti-iPod. My question is what was he doing "mowing the lawn" in the middle of a storm, heck what was he doing mowing the lawn even if it was just heat lightning?

Exactly. I think that the lawn mower was the antenna for the lightning and just like any other electrical device, the iPod helped the lightning out.

OMG! Every time you buy an iPod God fries a teenager!

Save a teenager and stop buying the evil iPods!  :p :shifty:

"God fries a teenager..." Good! There are too many teens in the world today, anyways.

A good teenager is a fried teenager. TROFL!!!!!!

    • Funny, but I didn't had the issue. All PC's at work are Dell and we had the culprit version of Support Assist for about 2 weeks until we got the new one. No problem at all. And for checking you can also use Dell Command Update, no need to search in windows settings. Just check the Upgrade History.
    • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
