[Video] Me breaking my iBook (death via dropping)

Recommended Posts

I have the iSight webcam. I did these in a rush so it looks horrible. I recorded it in HD quality but then reduced it to that for youtube. It is built into my iMac. The lighting is also bad since i'm just using two desk lamps as I dont have time to get the lighting setup properly

Hey man it sucks to drop an iBook... I would hate to have done that myself... especially because I have a dell and there is hardly a chance that it'd survive the same drop.....

I'm happy for you doing so well with your lungs. I hope you continue doing well :)

Anyways, This is something that wont be coverd by applecare.. so after I get the courage to tell my paernts in the morning, I hopefully assume we will be heading to go get a Macbook. but I doubt it.

Are your parents made of money or something?

That's a good video, I'm glad you wasn't mad about me putting you on digg.com Most of the comments you got were hateful, but you got 182 diggs! :) I always thought it was an accident, not everyone swears when they drop stuff, I know when I dropped my iBook I was in total shock and just went omg omg omg and left it on the floor before I even examined the damage.

Dude, what's your problem? You are accusing him stole iBook, insulting someone else's house and parents of having no money? Not everyone as rich as you.. And he got an iMac with an iSight, so why would he steal the iBook and break it on purpose?

Just watched the video and the look on your face is priceless, Id react probably the same way, like disbelief and oh **** moments. Good to hear the ibook is fine though, and after the battery and whatnot the rest is cosmetic. And good luck with fixing the screen too, the way you explain it seems pretty logical and should work imo.

For some reason this has turned into some people being abusive for no reason but I really dont get the big deal. Its just a bummer thing that happens, you drop your laptop, and even more so it's recorded lol. Forget about the keyboard warriors.

Considering a paypal donation for ya

I bet you stole that ibook and is breaking it just for fun. I doubt parents who live that that kind of home environment would by you one. And you seem to leave the room the hallway to see if your parents are not coming.

That was the most ****ed up thing I've read today.

1) I don't steal.

2) You cant see **** in that video, dude. That is the only brick wall and it's brick because there is a house connected to our right. You dont even see the left corner of the room, my room is huge! You dont see anything but this little area where I stand and drop it. You can't possibly ****ing judge my house or our finances by this video! How dare you?

3) It'd be sorta weird to be standing in front of a webcam talking and you're parents were to walk in, no?

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
