Lexar has today announced that it has increased the maximum capacity of its Professional 133x Compact Flash line to 8 GB. The new 8 GB 133x Type I Compact Flash card has a maximum sustained write speed of 20 MB/sec and will be available in August with a suggested price of $424.99 (US).

id prefare having 4 x 2gb with me, actually. 2gb is a lot of space, enough for MANY photos and infact its better to organize your photos. if you go out to a concert gor example, you wont shoot 8gb. even as a pro. i guess the most you do would be like 1,5gb, and then you go to a party or on a trip or to whatever and all these pictures are on that card... nothing for me.

anyways, 8gb compact flash is a cool development and could be useful for cellphones for example or organizers. dunno.

But I have a little mp3 player that takes SD cards too...
