Rudy
i like the way they did the 64bit support alot better than what they previously had or what MS did (no 32bit emulation needed) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/483831-wwdc-2006/page/10/#findComment-587766000 Share on other sites

REM2000
MS System Restore is for Drivers and Windows System Files. Time Machine is more like Windows Volume Shadow Copying Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/483831-wwdc-2006/page/10/#findComment-587766003 Share on other sites

Dejon
That's actually pretty cool. 10:37 am finder windows move through timeline on the side of the machine through time - very cool to watch 10:37 am instantly back 10:37 am with time machine, you can get those files back by entering a date or time 10:36 am finder windows important stuff 10:35 am ever had time where you work on a doc and you do a save as and overwrote the wrong one? Chicane-UK Veteran Posted August 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted August 7, 2006 Sounds quite cool - can specify the volume where it backs up to and it keeps backups of everything you do. Must say that does appeal to someone like me who is lazy with backing up.. if its just doing it continually to an external device for example. Sounds interesting... tronmaster
Windows system restore is like it says just the system, that's why there are companies that sell back-up programs like Norton Ghost. This Time Machine sounds really great, every file on your OS. It will be interesting to see after 1 year, if there are slow downs to the OS.
