Lost - Season Three

Because everybody is getting afraid of being #(*@#ed at.

I was gonna type something like that...I was gonna say because sometimes when Peewee or myself post a spoiler and we want to discuss it you have to have it in spoiler tags its only fair to the other people even tho some people already know...

You mean when he stared at it?

Well we don't know what happened, maybe Locke wasn't part of its mission.

What I really want to know is how the others managed to make the whisper sounds? Or perhaps they used the spirit/monster to do it to freak them out from exploring.

Also, I think the polar bear is the spirit/monster, unless they go with the magnetic forces being screwed up on the island so one somehow got there.

I'm thinking the polar bear was a real polar bear, because them Russians were in the arctic when they saw the magnetic anomaly on their radar.

Did death ever appear on Final Destination?...I had a thought that once he appeared as black smoke...

Erm...I think it did. It appeared as a dark shadow in number 1, not sure about the others.

Yeah I think it was the bit in the Kitchen...Maybe death is on the island :|

Death is everywhere!

*Looks behind and sees a black cloud getting bigger and making strange noises*

....you shall never catch me on post counts *evil laughter* :D

I know, i know. Must face the facts. Maybe in 5 years time ;) Anyways...

Jack's joyous reunion is cut short when his fellow survivors realize that an Other is accompanying him; a mysterious illness strickens Claire

Also while i was on Youtube i came across this old Lost

from the Super Bowl last year, think its great.

Just watched Lost on Sky. Great episode.

I'm a little confused about the sub scene. Like you guys, I couldn't see the submarine when Locke was reprimanded. Hell, it didn't even look like it was in the explosion. However, every Lost blog I've read is pretty adamant that the sub was blown up :s

I just saw it on Sky also. Interesting Episode.

Though I can't help but feel the drag. I feel the dialogue is really suffering because the writers are obviously trying to get the story into a certain place for season4 and need to stretch the story in places.

I mean come on, I'd be saying, "WTF is going on, already!!!" But instead they drag it out with overused facial expressions.

Was a bit bored and found out the top 5 posters in this thread.

If I didn't have so much other things to do, I would def have MORE posts here.

Lost was renewed for a fourth season this week, who didn't see that coming? Despite being cast as ailing, (in fact, the drop off in viewers was about what ABC had predicted for the time change), LOST's twisty-turny plot continues to dominate water coolers as its story begins to unfold in some exciting new directions. Time travel, other 'others', and now Locke's dad mysteriously appearing on the island? Where is all this going? How will it end? Read on for our best guesses at what LOST season four might look like!

First the setup. What do we know. In the recent ABC podcast, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof told us that 'Jacob' is 'him'. So Jacob, who made some mysterious master list, is the defacto leader of the others, or is he? Maybe he is a leader of the other 'others'. Getting confused yet?

New characters are scheduled to begin appearing on the island who are neither others nor plane folk. It has been alluded to many times that this third group is far more terrifying in nature than the monster, and probably more powerful than our others. So without further delay, here are my predictions for Season Four:

    • The base. The basis of four is going to be this new group, but not in the
way we dealt with the others. This new group is going to be aggressive.
Something has been preventing them from interfering with things up to this
point, and when that something is removed, all hell is going to break loose on
      the island.
    • No more beach. The beach we know and love is going to go bye bye. I'm
predicting the others will be revealed to be the good guys they are and the
815rs will be huddling together with them in anticipation of a looming showdown
      with the new third group.
    • The good guys. We're going to learn by the end of this season that the
others have been doing what they do out of necessity. In other words, they are
protecting their own butts, probably carrying out the orders of the third group
      to avoid their wrath.
    • No Monster. Go ahead, call me crazy, but I predict that the monster will
somehow be destroyed by the end of the third season. Why? Because he is the
'security system' to quote Danielle, he is what keeps that other group from
mingling down and doing their evil bidding. Think of this, the monster is named
Cerberus. Cerberus both guarded the way in, and out, of the
underworld. With Cerberus out of the way, the third group has free reign over
      the island. Look out.

3x15 Left Behind

eh? third group?

Woa! Sawyer being friendly in 3x15! Anyone think he might be the one Claire has this "intimate relationship" with?

I thought a 3rd group long time ago and the only reason for that was the fact that Jacob is him...the high leader...so at sometime there must of been some revolt in the group and they split...thats always been my envision of the dharma groupies and others.

Ginger in Chicago: Got any Lost scoopage to spill?

This week on Lost, Maggie Grace (Shannon) returns, Sun goes all nutty fisticuffs and...someone is going to die. Someone I personally love. Someone I personally am sad to see go! But I worry I might be in the minority. Regardless, how this person dies is perhaps the most disturbing death I have ever heard of. Let's just say I have one big monster of a phobia, and this death plays into that. Eeek! (And no, it is not "the monster.")

Jack in Laguna Niguel, California: Please tell me what's going to happen next on Lost! I want more Hurley action.

Well, it looks like you'll get more action on Hurley's...van. Producers are currently casting for a "Roger," a working-class janitor in his early forties who is bitter about his place in life but has higher aspirations. The notice says of the character, "He has troubled and complex relationship with his son; [he] finds himself caught up in a mysterious situation beyond his imaginings; [and the] actor must not be claustrophobic." Pretty sure this is the skeleton?"Roger Work Man"?from Hurley's episode. (Ha!) Flashback fun times! (I see a beer run in our future.)

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
