Lost - Season Three

Recommended Posts

Please don't make it six!

Don't pull a Fox :(

They forced Chris Charter to make the X-Files 9 seasons instead of the original 5 he wanted - the result was a clear slide in quality and too many filler episodes.

We've seen it happen before, we'll see it happen again. Companies greed for a cash cow > the acutal storyline.

JJ's always written winners, I'm sure he can come up with something else for them. Just let LOST go at 5. Please.

Now...

There is NOTHING on TV that's EVER as good as shows like X-files, or Lost.

Even at Season 9, X-files is Clearly one of the Best shows on TV, Most of TV shows are GARBAGE. IMO!!!

I DON'T know what kind of show you also like, but Majority of them SUCK! (If you like other shows Better than lost, then Clearly you are NOT as a big fan of this show, as people like myself!) Season 1 of those is Already WAY Worse than Season 9 of X-file, in comparasion!

I NEVER watch any of those Stupid sitcoms with Stupid ass Jokes I don't care to find Funny!!

There goes Most of the Highest rated shows, from Nielson ratings (Watched by Stupid Average Americans) I Don't agree with!

And, I consider myself True Fan of X-files, I supported X-files til S9! The BIGGEST reason X-files ended in Season 9 was David Duchvony wanted out. He is the X-files, without him, X-file can not continue. Wasn't because of the Stories sucked. There are so much Unexplained/Myth in this world left to explore. However, as much as I like Robert Patrick, he is no Mulder.

Otherwise, I totally WOULD supported more Seasons! Now I want X-files movie #2, and Why the hell is Fox not giving us MORE movies? Hell, that Sucks I want more X-files!!! :(

Without X-files, I was Devasted. Now with Lost, I have the same feeling about it.

If you DON'T find the show interesting anymore, DON'T watch it, but for US people that still can handle it, don't ruin it for us!

Because there isn't much **** to watch on TV, I like Lost to be as Long as it can, so I have actually something good to watch!

Well I think six seasons is pushing it, but I'm not going to complain until after I've seen all of the seasons. If you have a problem with them doing six seasons, stop watching the show, it is just that simple.

Yep agree :)

I think it is alright if the writers have the ideas for 6 seasons but if it gets stupid by Season 5 and unbelievable then why bother...I know people here advocate the program as he best program on the telly but it could get really silly by Season 6 and I really hope that doesn't happen because it has a legacy one that I want to remember like Dallas did when that was on...

Nice stuff Peewee ;)

Just a thought

In a highly unusual move, the network announces plans today to end the show after three more shortened seasons of 16 episodes each. The episodes will air consecutively, repeat-free, from February to May.

If they are planning 3 more seasons of 16 episodes, that would be 48 episodes in total

If they have 2 more seasons of 24 episodes, then that is still 48 more episodes.

I say 24, as that is roughly what they have at the moment (had in the past couple of seasons).

Maybe this is just a co-incidence, and I am seeing a pattern where none exists, but I find it interesting nonetheless. Perhaps they have enough "story" for 48 more episodes and are trying to find the best way to portray it to the viewers.

Discuss :)

waiting a whole year for the next season is stupid.

That's what you have to do for 24 and it is still a very popular show. There's no guess work into knowing when the show is on and when it is off doing it this way. Not stupid at all, very smart on ABC's part to do it this way.

It is now official: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7050700223.html

I don't think it will get silly IMO. I think the writers probably have enough questions and filler episodes, good filler episodes, that could be written to fill three more seasons. I can't imagine that Cuse and Lindalof would agree to six seasons and not have enough to fill six seasons. They seem like they care more about the audience than the almighty dollar, so hopefully it won't get silly.
In January, Lindelof and Cuse said that they envisioned the endpoint for "Lost" around episode 100. The agreement with ABC will bring the total number of episodes to 120.
This is good news IMO. It means that we won't be far off from where the writers wanted to end the show, so they'll have to come up with 20 more episodes, but that isn't that bad though. Edited by Hurmoth
Hmm they could leave questions unanswered...just keep building it up till the last ep ever, then nuke the island...no answers needed :p

I remember when someone it might of been on this forum suggested it will end with Jack waking up on the plane before it takes off...

Ya know, you guys really do want to have a larger gap between the finale and the next season. Why? Because when the new season starts, there's no more breaks, none, zilch, nada. No griping about, "When is it coming back?" You can know that week after week, there will be another episode.

On the other hand, you can get a few episodes in the fall. Then there's this long break and people saying, "NOOOOooooo, I can't wait that long!!"

You rather breaks over a continuous run? Didn't think so ;)

If you complaining about the 'six seasons':

Keep in mind:

Current season: 23 episodes

Shortened seasons for the three years: 16 episodes

So you are only getting it stretched an extra 2 episodes above 5 seasons.

Yeah, you have to wait a little longer to see it all, but 16 straight weeks of Lost is better than no Lost at all.

I would love consecutive weeks of lost rather then repeats and I love your sig :D

season 2 with periodic breaks: "waaah! too many breaks!"

season 3 with only one long break: "waaah! break is too long!"

season 4 with no breaks: "waaah! time between seasons is too long!"

some people can never be happy.

The people complaining about it have obviously never watched 24, since the 'non-stop season' idea is amazing.

Haha...Weird though that Sarah or his dad isn't included. So thats Walt/Micheal, Sarah, Christian. Still it better be a hell of a finale!

In the podcast they've said that we'll return to the Michael/Walt story in the fourth season. I believe very late in season two they stated it would be towards the end of this season that we'd see them again, but apparently they had to move their stories back some. Not seeing Sarah or Christian isn't a big deal either, although I can't think of anymore of Jack's story that would interest me at this point, but I'm sure the writers have something up their sleeves.

No I felt the last flashback in Thailand was so pointless I could of missed it and not really learnt anything other then maybe the meaning of Jacks tattoo...I just hope this one blows the others out of the water

    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
