BUT, I doubt the Lost producers will resort to "jinn" explanations - that's not an explanation at all.

No, he was basically dead, except the island heals, so he recovered.

Actually he wasn't close to being dead. He said in the last episode that the Sonic Fence wasn't turned up to "lethal" levels. So he was just unconscious.

It's a two hour finale and is counted as two episodes, but they're aired in one sitting/session, so it's still considered one person centric, like season two was Desmond centric.

I wouldn't discount Eko either, in a spiritual or physical sense. We already know that he is the focal point of one of the episodes for season 4...

Come to think of it though, it is a bit farfetched.
