Lost - Season Three

I didn't give my thoughts about last nights episode and well I thought it was good but I preferred Season 2 finale and I can't see why people said it was better then Heroes finale...those are 2 different programs that shouldn't be compared

This season finale was way more intense, which is one reason I felt it was better than the season two finale.

For all we know that flash forward could have been events at or beyond the end of the series. Maybe instead of flash backs their gonna do flash forwards from now on and we see the events on the island leading up to those events.

I wonder if we have a new "present" vantage point and now we have flashbacks from when the call was placed to what we saw last night.

We're not sure about Kate, though there could be a lot of scenarios. And...

Why do people keep insisting that Christian Shephard is alive?! :omg:  :argh:

The writers even said it, CHRISTIAN SHEPHARD IS DEAD. We saw his lifeless body on a slab. End of story. He'll likely appear from Smokey, but that doesn't count as alive.

As for the good/bad guys, it's really hard to say, but maybe there is some truth to what Ben is saying, although good guys wouldn't normally take the course of action the Others have taken: kidnapping children, killing anyone that stops them, forcing people against their will, etc.

Edit: Ok, I'm calm :)

Anywho, if Christian Shephard were alive, well, that would make this picture negligible:

In my half-baked theory I was saying that while he WAS dead, he is not now due to the island's "Destiny Therapy" powers.

Noticed that Walt has the same clothes he wore from the season 2 finale. Could be something worth noting down

Of course they looked like they'd been washed though  Hurley must have washed them in those brand new Dharma washer/drier set.

(for those who don't remember, there was a slip up on the prop guys part in season two when Libby and Hurley was washing clothes, the drier and washing machines were brand new, released in 2006)

Yeah I can see that...dunno I just thought Season 2 was amazing I was more shocked then..then I was last night but this could be down to the spoilers which I read a few weeks ago so that might of tainted it a bit...Season 4 is gonna be spoiler free for me.

Thats true. But could be a error.

Yeah the driers was seen in the Season 2 episode 1. They said this happened because of the Dharma food drops...

EDIT - Do you reckon that the Walt/Locke scene was filmed ages ago, from this.

Then what happened to the body? And I haven't heard the writers say the Christian is dead and I've listened to every single podcast, can you tell me which one it is? I'm not questioning you, I just don't remember that.

Christian was said to be dead in the 4/20 Official Lost Podcast though the producers qualified their statement by saying that they "may be using the word 'dead' in a sense we [the audience] don't fully understand yet." This indicates an uncertain status as to Christian.

I'm very curious about the wreckage and how the bodies their match up to the bodies of the living people on the island. A switch-a-roo? It's plausible that this was the case for Christian, but how? why? etc.

Ah, so my silly theory may have some legs after all!

Are you talking about the bodies Naomi said they found? Maybe she was just lying? But why would she? If she did not want work with Penny, who would want to find them? (or did they just want the island?)

Do you guys think next season will start with our new "present day"?

Do you consider promo's, sneak peaks and podcasts as spoilers?

Promos = No they are public domain

Podcasts = No again they are public domain for people to listen to

Sneak Peeks = Yes and No...they could reveal something but they are made as so they are not...

Spoilers are the people like Insider Scoop and Ausiello/Kristin

Is it possible that Kate is free because she (along w/ all the losties) was declared "dead" and now her slate is wiped clean? is that possible?

No. Law doesn't work like that.

Though it could be that they chose not to prosecute her because of what she had gone through.

It really doesn't matter though. That future shouldn't come to pass.

I think I am seeing words about a "loft" and "...from a beam in the..." Sounds like a suicide.

Here's the best I can piece together from that pic. Some is easily readable, some is best guess, some is inference based on context. For partial words, I've filled in what I think the rest of it is.

Man found dead in downtown loft

The body of J(o or e) ... antham of New York was found shortly after 4 a.m. in the (text not visible, but likely "X00 block") of Grand Avenue. Ted ... a doorman at The Tower ... heard loud noises ... from ... m's loft. Ca ... he alerted the ... recovered the ... body hanging from a beam in the ... room. According ...

It would seem like suicide, but loud noises? Was the person arguing on the phone, or was someone else there? Is it a staged suicide?

Edited by Jack31081

So in all the flashforwards, jack was trying to phone kate, and eventually he got through and was all "don't hang up, please"... why wouldn't kate want to talk to jack? why have they fallen out?

Also, charlie didn't need to die.. the water would have come in up to the window, but they would have been an air bubble above that.. enough time for Des to get an oxygen tank round to the broken window i reckon.

We can point out a hundred different ways for Charlie to survive. That's not the point. The point is twofold.

1) Charlie accepting his fate and finally fully redeeming himself for his past

2) Desmond is creating self-fulfilling prophecies

See the forest. Not the trees.

Exactly! RIP Charlie and move on...

You knew he died or was going to because they played the plinky plonky music that gets played everytime someone dies.

Also what is up with Mikhail (sp)? is he invincible because i understand him surviving the fence thing but the spear gun in the chest?

He's the Apophis of Lost. You just can't get rid of that guy....We'll probably see him again: when we least expect it.

    • Microsoft faces shareholder lawsuit over masking AI costs and slowing Azure growth by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft is facing a class action lawsuit from shareholders who allege that the company intentionally overhyped its artificial intelligence initiatives to distract from slowing cloud revenue and an exploding infrastructure bill. The complaint was filed in a Seattle federal court by the Michigan-based City of St. Clair Shores Police and Fire Retirement System. The plaintiffs argue that Microsoft’s leadership painted an overly optimistic picture of its Copilot rollout and complex OpenAI partnership. They say that the company did this while downplaying the harsh reality that building the data centers required to power these next-generation tools requires a huge amount of capital. Back at the company's Q2 2026 earnings report from late January, Microsoft revealed that its flagship Azure cloud growth had slipped to 39% (down from 40% the prior quarter) and guided investors to expect a further deceleration to 37% or 38% for the first three months of 2026. Now, under normal circumstances, a slight percentage point drop in cloud growth is a minor operational hiccup. But the Redmond giant paired that guidance with $37.5 billion in quarterly capital expenditures. This figure, which is a 66% year-over-year surge, blew past any analyst estimates at that time. Much of this amount went into buying high-priced GPUs and custom silicon that were required to train and run large language models. This is why the market reacted violently and just a day after its earnings call on January 29, the company's stock plummeted 10%, and wiped out $357 billion of capital in just a trading session. Microsoft is doing better now, though. Its Q3 2026 results showed its run rate from its AI business was hitting $37 billion, proving that enterprise demand for its infrastructure is very real and continuing to scale. Microsoft isn't the only company pouring billions into infrastructure for the AI boom. We've seen most Big Tech companies, including Amazon and Google, also get the results of these **** with stronger-than-ever growth and increased income. via Reuters

    • I totally disagree. Very little good comes out of governments all around the world manipulating everything they can and usually the people are not the benefactors. What you say about being restricted and expensive sounds almost like the arguments against firearms and why banning them will protect people as if making something illegal somehow will prevent the criminals from having and using them. AI being far less mainstream could simply mean the average person will not benefit, but "big brother" and the corporations will benefit, which is almost for sure NOT a good thing.
