Fantasy NHL Hockey League

Recommended Posts

As we are nearing the start of the the new hockey season i just wanted to know if there is going to be a fantasy hockey league this year and if so who sets it up?

I just had a look over at Yahoo sports and you can now create and join leagues for the upcoming season.

I'd consider joining but I'd end up picking a lot of Leafs out of loyalty and then I'd lose really badly.

C'mon now. You may be loyal to the Laffs, but wouldn't you rather have Staal, Crosby, Ovechkin, Jagr etc on the same team!

This is the time of year when Leafs fans are sure that the Leafs will win the cup. It usually fades (for me) by Christmas.

It seems that we need an even number of teams for the draft? Is that correct? If so we'll need one more person to join in the next 5 days.

I created a customzied draft list that didn't favour Leafs players THAT much. I mean, it's hard enough to find many in the top 192.

I guess I'll also abuse my powers and pin this thread. I mean, it should be pinned anyway, right?

We still need 1 more person to join the league

Is there anybody who played last year that didn't sign up this year?

So, do you guys think it would be possible to move the draft time an hour or two ahead to 10PM ET, 7PM PT?

How long does the draft take to complete?

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
