Prince was great. I'm glad they got somebody good for this year's show. I remember they had Aerosmith a couple of years ago but they screwed that up with having Britney Spheres and N'Suck perform with them.

I'm biased because I'm a fan but that was a great halftime show. No teeny boppers but a musician and no lip-sync. I have seen him live and its just like that just for 3+ hours.

I thought it was going to be much worse. I enjoyed it. Thank god there was no Justin Timberlake or pop music like that. How come no Bob Seger or Bruce Springsteen.

Congrats to the Colts. I pity Grossman. Chicago fans may want to string him up after this. I'm seeing a reenactment of when that guy caught the ball at the Cubs game where Grossman is that guy. Go Colts!

The Game:

Okay, I fully admit I watched this years game not caring about who won at all, but I must say I am now a huge fan that all Super Bowls should be played in inclement weather conditions!! Again not caring at all who won, but truly all of the turnovers just made it a so much more exciting to watch overall than they usually are.

Other than the weather making it more fun to watch, the outcome was more or less what I thought it would be.

The Commercials

I admit I did not pay attention the entire time and I did not get to see every single commercial since this year I had a few people at my place for the first time in a very long time, and I was more occupied with playing host all night (cleaning up, getting food and snacks, etc.) that anything else. However out of the commercials I did see, which I say is at least 70% of them, I can honestly say I do not remember a single one. FTR before someone jumps to conclusions, I was (and still am) completely sober all night. So the fact I cannot recall a single good commercial says to me from what I did see, I must have thought any of them were that good at all. Definitely disappointed at the commercials.

The Half Time Show

I am older than a good amount of people here, and I can say I pretty much grew up with Prince, and I never understood what the big fuss was, and this is even factoring in the fact that the older I got over the years, the more I appreciated him, he does have some great songs. However, all I can say is I really think he takes himself way, way to serious. As strange as it may sound, I have never even see they guy smile while on stage, he just always looks like a "Rock Star," always posing and such, and I just cannot stand him because of what comes off to be a "better than everyone else" attitude.

Also, I just thought it was so out of place to be playing the Foo Fighters like he did. I mean I understand the quick Hendrix he threw in there, but to play a relatively speaking new song by someone like the Foo Fighters, when he has so many songs of his own he could have played, just seemed so damn cheesy and forced.

Overall, this year the game itself was by far the most enjoyable aspect of it all, when it is usually a combination of the game and commercials, at least for myself.

The commercials were horrible, the only ones that gave me a slight chuckle were the Career Builder ones and the actual game was alright but nothing special.

The game was great, and the better team won. The refs had no bearing on the outcome, unlike last year. And if the Bears actually had a quarterback, they might have had a chance!
