kudos on the 48 rookas, that's a nice looking number there.

hey Remy, how was Prototype? i'm considering buying it since Gamefly are a bunch of slowpokes the likes of which slowness has never been prouder of.

It's a really solid game, but it's not worth it's full price imo. But if you can rent it, definitely do it, there's just not much incentive to play it all again and you're probably done after 12 hours at max.

Achievement-wise it's also alright, got a fairly easy 350 points out of it :p

And viola! Brass Balls is done!

Congrats! I'm still shocked at how easy Atlas was. First try TYVM! Regardless, that achievement was a huge challenge and I'm pretty happy to have it.

Oh, and Rookas just traded in his old gf for a shiny new model, so the gamerscore is sure to suffer

Yeah, I got Atlas on my first try. First time through on my last play through (Also on hard) took 3 tries. The level three ice and fire plasmids and bolt gun items make it such a breeze. I'm happy to be among the first 15,000 to have gotten it as well :p

good job on the brass balls, both of you. as for the new girlfriend, wait till she becomes an ex wife. Your gamerscore will thank you ;)

Already got one ex-wife, not looking for another. BTW, ghostbusters deserves the bad reviews. Bill Murray totally phoned in his voice acting, and it's frustratingly hard. Killed three times by a candlestick, really? Sending right back to gamefly.

well done!

rookas, seem we may be in the same boat - was never the family type, it failed for me early on. but wasn't trying to jinx you dude, just gallows humor. Hey send Ghostbusters to me! How the heck did you even manage to get it from them, it's been on my "Q" for ages, no movement.

As for Red Faction...i give it a 6/10. Mercs 2 was more my type of game, even tho i'm a Mars appreciator. Red Faction has less in the way of character, and it's too damn hard, there's a lot of trial and error. And for the umpteenth time, would it kill these developers to let us save anywhere? i just don't get it. If Mass Effect and Bioshock can do it, and these are just two examples, why can't Red Faction? Afraid we'll find out your game is only six hours long? WELL DEVELOP A LONGER ****ING GAME!

Follow @gameflyinc on Twitter and bitch at them when you don't get what you want and point out what a good member you've been, it works for me! I always get new releases now!

Well my GS has come to a screeching halt because I'm right back into CoD4 multiplayer. As soon as I can tear myself away from it though, I need to finish Force Unleashed (but I can't get past that damned Bull Rancor on Sith Master!!!), and then I'm finally breaking open Bionic Commando.

It'll take forever, but just keep dodging and using lightning on it. Took me about 20 minutes to finish it off. I need to go back and finish TFU as well, got into other games and never went back to it. Bionic Commando is fun, but extremely frustrating. You will find yourself in an "irradiated area" and drop dead in seconds all the time. Swinging along (once you get it down) can be a lot of fun, it's a decent game.

thanks for the advice rook, but not the Twitter type at all. Gamefly sucks, there's no two ways about it.

Jianbing, i wouldn't bother with Bionic Commando, it's a real disappointment - if you can trade it in, send it back or something, do it.

I'm currently at 560 points for Oblivion. I'm nearly done with all of my Guild specific quests and can resume the primary quest and then move on to Shivering Isles to complete the game. I'm not sure what I'll be playing after this... I may focus a bit on some casual arcade playing for a while or stop procrastinating and buy the double game package of LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung-Fu Panda for $10 on eBay. I think my wife would appreciate me doing the casual playing :p

Yeah, that's what a couple of friends said too. That's one of the reasons why I've been hesitating to open it. It still has the plastic wrap on it. Maybe I'll just see if I can trade it in for something else. I still have the receipt.

Please do! You'll thank me later. Good thing you didn't open the abomination.

Mathachew, thanks for reminding me of Shivering Isles, almost forgot about it these last two years or so! I don't know about that LEGO/Panda combo...kinda unmanly, you know what i mean?

Not really, I've really enjoyed the LEGO games. The first game I bought when I got my 360 last year was Star Wars: The Complete Saga and several months ago Batman, so I'm sure I'll enjoy Indiana Jones. Not so sure about Kung-Fu Panda, but I'm up for some casual stuff since I've been hammering through some more serious games lately.

Finally beat that damned Bull Rancor. I got lucky and Maris got stuck in the scenery, so I didn't have her to deal with. Beat the Rancor without even being hit. Hopefully *crosses fingers* it should be smooth sailing from here to a cool 375 points.

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
