Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Recommended Posts

I knew she was going to find out when she was selected to go down to the planet. My only gripe this season thus far is the Starbuck storyline. Its been four months and she has only killed her new roomy five times? Last thing she said at the end of last season is, "Fight 'em until we can't." They must have really done a number on her if she's already used up all her fight. Maybe they promised to do something to Anders if she didn't cooperate.

Don't forget though, the producers have said that Starbuck's storyline is very "dark and disturbing" and I'm pretty sure it gets much worse for her. In the end though, what's the point? Are they ever gonna put Starbuck and Apollo together or not? It's obvious they love each other, but jeez come on, why make us wait 8 seasons until the final episode like every other series? Not to mention Adama loves her, that evil forbidden omg she's 40 years younger than me love to :p

As for evil cylon guy who she's staying with, I think in the web episode things, they showed a little but about her, or told us a little but anyways. I didn't watch them all so I can't say for sure.

The male Cylons are always the ruthless ones. The female Cylons can sometimes be downright evil, but at least some of them show shreds of humanity here and there.

By the way, why did the.. umm, Lucy Lawless Cylon have that dream? And how did the "oracle" know she had that dream? I could've sworn I saw the "oracle" lady having convulsions or something on the makeshift hospital bed. It looked like someone with the same clothes as her, so it must've been her.

Anyway, BSG is getting better. The preview for next week's episode was great.

Oct. 23, 2006 issue - Listen up, "Battlestar Galactica" fans. A war is brewing, fiercer than anything involving Cylon robots. The battlefield: the Internet, where fans can get their "Battlestar" fix with three-minute mini-episodes created especially for the Sci Fi Channel's Web site, SciFi.com. NBC Universal, the studio behind "Battlestar," refused to pay residuals or credit the writers of these "Webisodes," claiming they're promotional materials. So "Battlestar" executive producer Ron Moore said he wouldn't deliver any more of them, including the 10 that were already in the can. In response, NBC Universal seized the Webisodes and filed charges of unfair labor practices against the Writers Guild of America, which advised Moore and producers of three other NBC Universal shows not to deliver any new Web content until they had a deal over residuals. "The guild unlawfully pressured producers not to perform," says Marc Graboff, West Coast president of NBC Universal TV.

The "Battlestar" skirmish is only the beginning as the Writers Guild heads into negotiations for a new contract with the studios next year. The talks are taking place just as shows are being delivered and promoted on the Internet and through iPods and cell phones —none of which is covered in depth by the current guild agreement. "It doesn't matter which technology wins out, the companies are going to make money, and we can't get shut out," says David Young, the new executive director of the WGA, West. The stakes are huge: viewers streamed "Battlestar" Webisodes 5.5 million times last month, doubling traffic to SciFi.com within two days of the premiere. By comparison, 2.2 million people showed up for the show's third-season opener on Oct. 6. Talk of a Hollywood strike is growing louder. Some 900 writers, including "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry, attended a "unity" rally Sept. 20. Says "Galactica's" Moore: "We're all heading toward a collision over digital content. Somebody's going to blink, but I don't think it's going to be the writers."

Oh this doesnt look good at all

No comments on last nights episode?

Another awesome one, that scene with Adama and Apollo had me in tears. Such great acting there. And I assume next week is the big final push to rescue everyone on New Caprica.

Wonder what Boomer-Galactica is gonna do when she finds out the truth about her baby, gonna betray Humanity, or forgive them. Or worse....

Actually thats Caprica-Sharon you're talking about. :)

    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
