Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Sigh, I don't like the way they just nuked Jammer like that at the beginning. But eh. Another awesome episode, and hey...more Xena Warrior Toaster is always good!

I agree ... Lucy Lawless, D'Anna Biers aka Xena Toaster is very hot ....

Another awesome episode although I too didn't agree with the Jury's executions.

Ronald Moore is an excellent writer, just as good as JMS of Babylon 5.

Well, it meant to show that we humans can be pretty screwed up too, even at the brink of genocide and war.

At last count (before landing on New Caprica) there were over 47,000 people. How in the world did they evacuate that many people in the extremely short time alloted? The latest episode mentions thousands left behind. What is to become of them?

The parallels between today's world situation and that of BSG is designed to be the same. It's a hot topic and the BSG writers are taking advantage. If you don't see the parallel then wake up.

I wonder what would happen if they ran into a Gouald mothership? Maybe Baal would take #6 as a wife/host. Wonder how a human Cylon would fair as a host? The whole genetic memory vs download would be wild.

And what if the Ori ran into the Cylon fleet? Would they demand worship instead to the Cylon 'false god'.

No.... The Wraith! Try sucking the life out of a Cylon! That would be an interesting match up. A Wraith Dart against a Cylon Raider.

Combining the different series would be reminiscent of Alien vs Predator....

Just boggles the mind.... ;))

They were up to 49,550 Survivors at the beginning of 2x20 (Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 2). Then Gina detonated the nuke on Cloud 9 blowing it and several other ships up. So that 1 year after they settled on new caprica even with the births they had 39,192 on the planet and 2,000 people on the civilian ships in orbit. Also Pegasus and Galactica had about 2,000 on the "half strength" ships. So thats 43,000 people alive before the Cylon Occupation.

The survivor count in Collaborators is 41,435. So you can assume that about 1,600 people were killed by the cylons on the planet, during the evacuation or were left behind.

Ronald D. Moore has said over and over again that the occupation of new caprica was NOT an allegory about Iraq.

When will they find Earth? Does the Galactica crew still have the Arrow of Apollo? And, if I remember correctly, they know the "direction" to find Earth. In the episode Home, Part II, a few of Galactica's senior crew members were "on" Earth (in a manner of speaking). They look up and Starbuck notices that they are on Earth after seeing some constellations. That's when they see a familiar Nebula. I know they've been preoccupied with the Cylon and settling/evacuating the planet, but they now have a chance to resume the search for Earth.

i'm not sure if i ever want them to find earth. it'd kill the chance for a spinoff or movie or end up like 1980.

and yeah they were gonna resume the search for earth with just pegasus and the civvy fleet of 2000 so they are searching for earth once more no doubt.

i think they left the arrow on kobol though.

^ Ah, yes. How could I forget? I guess you're right. When they find Earth, will they encounter other humans? Could it be a habitable planet filled with lush forests and thriving animals? Maybe... Earth seems to be a myth to them. I've only watched a few episodes of the original BSG, so I may be wrong, but the 12 colonies was the origin of humanity. And Earth is merely a "mythical home world". At least that's what I think -- correct me if I'm wrong.

Ah... perhaps you are unaware but the show time is actually our present, the surviving humans will arrive to Earth at our time - our being us in the real world/life.

Hence the relation to old earth myths/religions like the greek gods and the one god.

RANT : considering the quality of writing for BSG I'm surprised at how unactive this topic is, compared to Lost maybe.... BSG is a much better show in terms of story telling .

I'm with you on this. The writers of Lost are really lost imo. They have taken the mistery out of the series. Everything is just so random now. They will leave the viewers very disspaointed when the series ends (the will leave many holes in the plot)

With BSG there seems to be some kind of goal with (almost) every single epsiode and the series.

yeah, i noticed the lack of activity after watching the episode last night. i thought the episode was really great but i don't know about it being a better show than lost. right now they're my two favorite shows - i'm not actually watching anything else.

the next episode looks really good.

its never been said that it takes place during our present time. in fact in Home when we saw Earth it was a lush green forest with no signs of human influence. it could be 2000 years ago or 2000 years in the future or anytime else.

    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.
