Battlestar Galactica Season 3

My wife has a name for shows like that, they are called 'soap operas'. The B.Dramatica trend continues...

Maybe next week we'll find out if Blair cheated on Sonny and is having Ricardo's baby!?

That's just like Soapoperaville - things turn ugly when Lana's baby doesn't turn out to be Lex Luther's, it's Clark Kent.

How exactly is stating that I'm not homosexual and will never support it, Homophobic? Do Homosexuals who advertise there sexuality get called Heterophobic? Your post is in accurate, I'm not homophobic in the least. I don't hate homosexuals, and certainly am not afraid of them. You are like most, bought the whole spill that homosexuals have fed our society. Wake up.

I hope it is a good episode. :)

I only mentioned it because you seem to have a big urge to announce it in your sig, which brought to mind this article here: Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal: study

back on topic though, I can't wait for the next episode. I do agree though that the show is tarting to turn into a soap opra, they need more action just as in season 1 & 2.

Announced today, Sci Fi Channel has increased its fourth season order of "Battlestar Galactica" to 22 episodes. The order will include a special two-hour "Battlestar" event to air during the fourth quarter of 2007 on Sci Fi, and will also be released on DVD.

Nice... two extra episodes next season plus some entertainment in between :D

Good News Indeed. I was a little disappointed when they only ordered 13 episodes at first.

Actually, its bad news. According to some in the industry, by Sci-Fi ordering the extra episodes, is them saying "we gave you the extra episodes, now end the show" pretty much. They gave them the extra 8 episodes to wrap up the series for the most part, at least that's what alot of people think is happening.

As I said last year, the ratings still stink, Sci-Fi is probably pulling the plug considering the cost involved.

The ratings stink because they moved it to Sundays. What the hell do they expect people to watch, Dresden Files :x ... I think BSG could benefit if they would put it on the same night as Eureka... could be the new SciFi Friday lineup. SG-1 canceled and I doubt Atlantis will survive much longer. On the upside, they could probably turn out at least two more Bruce Campbell flicks on the budget of a single episode of BSG.

The ratings stink for a couple of reasons, first because it is a niche show and second because its on Sci-Fi.

While we all may enjoy it, and think its the best written/acted show on TV right now (which many of us do) it is still a very niche show, sci fi to boot and only appeals to a fairly narrow segment.

Plus it airs on Sci-Fi, which has a habit of nuking shows people love, and never really advertising them right, plus not promoting them and changing schedules to launch/support other Sci-Fi shows.

Notice how SG-1 got cancelled the year after they changed Sci-Fi Friday from SG-1/Atlantis/BSG and now more than likely (again, according to some, just speculation) BSG's last season is season 4 coming up. All because Sci-Fi has to mess with the schedule and switch days and **** people off.

*sniff* Firefly oh Firefly!!!!

I disagree LOC. I don't think the fact that they ordered 22 shows means its ending soon, on the contrary I think it means the opposite. Lets be honest here Sci-Fi doesn't have anything else worth watching beside BSG and they can't very well cancel their #1 show. I think they will milk this as long as they can, just look at what they did with SG1.

I think Sci-Fi will sack BSG next season. If Sci-Fi was truly behind the show they wouldn't have done that announcement of 13 eps for next year. I think there was a lot of back door rangling by David Eick and Ron Moore to get the eps to properly rap the series up. The way the storyline is running I think it's going to end next year. Sci-Fi has never had the will to keep well produced shows running.

Farsacpe is an example. A show lauded for it's uniqueness, well written and acted shows even though it had a bunch of muppets on it. :) Granted it didn't garner as much praise as BSG but still. Sci-Fi openly complained that they weren't able to expand the audience due to Farscape's serialized episodes. They wanted neat little chunk's that would easily rap up in an hour. So they axed Farscape.

So they start up BSG and what do they get? Another serialized show that you can't simply jump in mid season and get it. And Sci-Fi does a horrible job of promoting. They should be constantly running through the old season's episodes at a decent hour so people can catch up.

Sci-Fi is quite content making their $2 sci-fi junk Saturday night movies. And that's all Sci-Fi will ever be. We'll get a glimmer of sci-fi genius every once and a while but it won't last long.

sci-fi just oesn't have enough programming to fill every day of the week. They have enough original "good" content to maybe fill half a day. I would love a scifi wednesday or friday night with eureka or dresdan, sg:a, bsg.

I hope they dont cancel the show, I am fianlly starting to understand the show by going back and watching the older episodes.

I dont get why they dont air the first 2 seasons on like a tuesday and so people can catch up during the week for the new episodes on sunday

So... Saul, Sam, Kara and the President's aid Tory are cylon... who is number 5?

Apperently in an earlier episode, Tyrol was also hearing the music. I'm not sure if i noticed it, but trying to think back I think it may have been in the episode where he and Cally were stuck in the landing area a few episdoes back.

    • This one baffles me...so they are creating a museum based around the Ship of Theseus? A museum is supposed to preserve things. It doesn't really work if the conversation goes, "I gazed upon Starry Night the other day, the colours were beautiful!" "Yeah...I didn't expect Godzilla to show up, though." Create a building devoted to displaying AI work, fine. The rainforest idea sounds interesting and I would consider visiting if they pay me a few bucks. But don't call it a museum...
    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.
    • As long as i get to play GTA 6 before it ends 😂😂
    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
