Battlestar Galactica Season 3

This means that Saul, Tyrol, Anders, etc are EARTHLINGS! They knew "All Along the Watchtower" as children... they even said it. If you don't know what I am talking about, listen to a bit of Jimi Hendrix...

Maybe they were planted on Caprica by the 13th colony as children?...

Anyway, confirmed, they ar Earthlings. No way they would no that song as children if they weren't.

I think there's also a big spiritual mixing that will be important in Season 4. Remember, Kara's ship exploded, it didn't just disappear.. So her ship and her body both exploded thus she was killed. So that's definitely something out there lol.

BTW guys just so you know (if you hadn't heard). There will be a long break between Season 3 and Season 4.

However, there will be a TV movie/DVD released in between that should be the bridge between the two.

It could also just have looked like an explosion but really was some sort of "space portal" that took her to Earth...?

I would have thought that too. But even Roger Moore and the actor Katee (sp?) said she did in fact die. Can't get anymore confirmed then that lol.

Okay, I didn't know that. Still, the "four" are Earthlings - I am sticking to that. Or at least, they were born/rasied on Earth. They have Earthly knowledge.

Wow that episode was probably one of the best so far but wtf? 2008? thats a hell of a long time to wait for more!

Edit: I think that this should finally confirm that Starbuck is a Cylon no?

I wouldn't exactly say that. She might be something else entirely.

well ofcourse the cast is going to say she was killed of before the season finale, it would be kind of stupid if they didn't and ruined the suprise. Why do you think her name was at the end of the credits

I put all my thoughts about how screwed up the season finale was in spoilers in case someone doesn't want to know where they may be going with this next season. All speculation according to me...

I have to agree that ones hearing music are not cylons and something else whether that be children of the 13th colony dumped on Caprica or what. The coincidence is that Tigh, Anders, Tyrol were all resistance leaders on New Caprica and I think Roslin and Tori were in on that as well. Im wondering if the cylons implanted them with sort of malfunctioning device? I also noticed that while those four are meeting in the room, you notice Baltar in the hallway briefly staring at the hull ceiling and a bit of the tune faintly in the background but then notices the strange women who abduct him to his new life. Also, if the other four are cylons, why are Six and Sharon not hearing the music? Why are Six, Sharon, Hera, Roslin have the four-way dream and is Baltar conscious part in this dream as well? The other four are not tuned into the dream scope. The only link is Baltar if he is indeed hearing the music and existing in the shared dream. Roslin also gets disoriented before the power goes out but she does not appear to be drawn to any music as the others converge on the meeting spot. Unless the music is a cylon activation switch as Tyrol infers it to be an awakening or some underlying programming he's programmed with. If Tyrol is a cylon, then that means his kid with Cally is a hybrid child as well, which would demean the importance of Hera in the current storyline. It would be convenient that Roslin would need blood from a different hybrid child to cure her cancer again. As if I hadn't already been thinking of all these scenerios during the rest of the episode, then they dump Starbuck back on me. I don't know where this show is going anymore except that it seems that next season must be the last now since it seems to be they are on the final leg of the journey to Earth.

i fully agree with what you said... two of them, wouldn't make sense

1. The original did not end at Earth. Though Galactica 1980 SUCKED.

2. In the original it was "good" vs "evil" near the middle of the original Apollo is killed and revived by beings of light.

3. A new life could mean many things so do not presume anything about teh fate of Baltar who in the orginal gets his own base star.

4. The "5" are special cylons who are not apart of the mainstream and so there fore would not share things with the other cylons. I took it from the storyline that the "5" rejected their own creation for that of being human, which would follow Tae's reaction.

5. YES Sci-Fi is freaking insane for putting off the new season till freaking 2008 but I have a feeling it had to do more with teh availability of teh actors more than anything.

6. Well one child is a boy and the other a girl are they not? = a reunification of the cylons(-5)+the 5 + Humanity.

This means that Saul, Tyrol, Anders, etc are EARTHLINGS! They knew "All Along the Watchtower" as children... they even said it. If you don't know what I am talking about, listen to a bit of Jimi Hendrix...

It's Bob Dylan(yes, I know Hendrix covered it. Just giving credit where it's due). ;) Cylons may have encountered Earth radio pollution during the original 5's creation or at some other point. They don't necessarily have to be of Earth to know the song.

Before Kara died, even Apollo saw the Cylon ship. I think they had a rez terminal in it and were near enough to her to rez. I'm fairly certain that the original 5 consists of the 4 on Galactica and Kara. They did say they'd reveal all 5.

I really hope that 22 episodes is enough to complete the story in a sensible manner if it is truly going to be canned afterward. I really have no idea where they're going with the story in any of the arcs. I like it. :D

It is All Along The Watchtower!! wath a huge finale, fracking fantastic, Saul's decision after he discovered he is cylon really put him in the positive light he deserves to be..... Kara was always the first choice for me for being one of the five and apparently clues for chief Tyrel being one already appeared during the season.

I thought this episode was really strong, superbly acted and having both a proper closure for the season and a new beggining for the fourth season.

What a great episode. I especially loved the visuals in the last 30 seconds or so.

My thoughts exactly. I hadn't paid enought attention and didn't know this was the season finale. When I saw everything happening at the end and then that 30 second sequence zooming to Earth, I said "oh my God, that's it until next year isn't it...". I just hope they are not getting overly spiritual with the storyline. I would much rather it be that Starbuck went through a wormhole or something.

ZOOOMYYGODDSSS! FRACKING crazy episode :omg:

I ain't gonna be able to wait 'till 2008!

I know starbuck didn't die, just her viper did (remember, hand on the ejection lever?). and the cylons probably had another one (note that the one she was flying in this episode was in better condition than the "Raymond "Raygun" Lai" one she normally flew).

again,

ZOOOMYYGODDSSS! FRACKING crazy episode :omg:

I ain't gonna be able to wait 'till 2008!

    • That lens of history will burn if you hold it at the right angle... Warn users too late: Shame, Microsoft! That extremely minor update to an obscure Control Panel widget required 2 years of warning. Warn users too early: Shame, Microsoft! We've got better things to do. Pipeline and process be damned, we'll just always be disappointed, eh?
    • Microsoft Paint used to be my favorite Windows app as a kid, and it's still pretty good by Usama Jawad I have been using Windows since the early 2000s, when I was around 10 years old or so. I vaguely remember playing around with Windows 98 and Windows 2000, but that may have been on school PCs which had old operating systems installed. My main OS on the home PC, and the one I recall spending most time with, was Windows XP. At that time, I used the home PC to create Word and PowerPoint documents for school, but a lot of the time, I simply used it to play games. My dad would bring game discs which we would try and install on the PC, sometimes unsuccessfully, and sometimes, we would rely on flash games in the browser, like Bubble Trouble on Miniclip. However, the problem with the latter approach was the internet speed. On a good day, our dial-up internet would offer us speeds of 56 kbps, but on most days, it was closer to 33 kbps. This did not facilitate online gaming as I would often have to wait minutes for a game to load or "draw" on the screen, and trying to download pirated games wasn't simple either. I remember getting tired of waiting for online games to load and just downloading simulator games from the Big Fish Games website instead, only to be disappointed after finding out that I was just being given access to trial versions of the title, and I needed to fork out money to pay for the full version. All of this is to say that it wasn't very easy to find entertainment options on the home PC when I was a kid, due to a number of reasons, mostly outside of my control. This situation pushed me towards a rather unconventional ally: Microsoft Paint. Whenever the internet wasn't working as good as I expected, I would simply spin up Paint and draw complete rubbish on the canvas. Of course, that wasn't always the intention, but it usually happened when I messed up drawing a straight line or something, and then I would give up on that particular piece and simply draw a random collection of objects. Microsoft Paint was extremely accessible and easy to use. Even if you weren't an artist, you could quickly understand the tools at your disposal and how to leverage them on a canvas. The absolute breadth on offer ensured that each painting was truly unique, as you could utilize various combinations of tools like the pencil, paint, spray paint, and more to truly personalize your creation. Since I wasn't particularly good at drawing both on digital screen or a physical screen, I remember that my main style of art would be to insert a bunch of randomly intersecting lines and then fill them with random colors through the paint can. I have trying to replicate that art style in the latest version of Paint below, and as you can see, it's truly Pablo Picasso-esque. The human imagination truly knows no bounds Microsoft Paint kept me occupied for hours and was my best friend when video games on the home PC were inaccessible for one reason or the other. There was no academic or professional reason for which I would need to use Paint, but I still loved using it in my personal time, even if what I created wasn't worth being shown to anyone. It was simply fun. Fast-forward to today, and the situation is mostly the same. Now that I am almost 29 years old, and I still have no reason to use Microsoft Paint in a professional capacity. In fact, I don't even use it in a personal capacity, except to dabble with it from time to time, just to see if core functionalities are still intact. And I'm happy to say that I think Microsoft Paint still offers the same accessibility and inviting experience that it did to me a couple of decades ago, even though its UX has been refreshed and it's been integrated with Copilot features. Interestingly, things could have been a lot different, had Microsoft had its way. Microsoft Paint was marked for deprecation with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update in 2017, and even began displaying a product retirement alert, urging customers to shift to Paint 3D instead. Fortunately, after consumer backlash, Microsoft reversed course on this decision, and Paint continues to be a native app inside Windows installations that can also be updated quite frequently through the Microsoft Store. Instead, Paint 3D ended up on the chopping block, which is for the better, I think. I have intermittently played around with Microsoft's refreshed Paint experience in the past few years, and I do think it has received worthwhile upgrades. the UI and the UX has been modernized while retaining core functionality, and the app is still fairly easy to use. It doesn't meet any of my use-cases, but I've never really had any use-cases ever, as described previously. Of course, the elephant in the room is the Copilot integration. Personally, I believe that this is one place where Copilot does make sense, environmental concerns aside. I know that a lot of creatives use AI to generate images, and while some may be using professional alternatives, Paint still offers a decent casual experience, with the power of Copilot. Of course, you do need to have a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot license and available credits to use it, but even if you don't, you still get the big Copilot button in the toolbar, unfortunately. All in all, I am glad that Microsoft Paint continues to be a native feature in Windows 11, and a piece of software that has evolved to meet modern needs without cutting off its own roots. It's just an iconic piece of Windows history that was an essential part of my childhood, and while I don't use it anymore, I'm just glad it is still there.

    • It IS confusing! What channel are you in on each device? I'm guessing your 16GB device is on Experimental (formerly known as Dev) and your 128GB is on Beta.
