Executive producer Ron Moore discusses thrilling 'Galactica' cliffhanger

Rob: Why did music cause these newly-revealed Cylons to discover they were indeed Cylons. Sharon didn't hear music when she figured it out in season one.

Ron Moore: It's more that they arrived at a certain point in space and they were made aware of who they are. The music manifests a dawning awareness. These are four of the final five, which puts them in a separate category from everybody else. There are reasons for that I can't really get into. We'll be playing out those plot lines for quite a while.

R: Now there are two half-human, half-Cylon babies -- Hera and the Chief and Cally's child. Will you be dealing with that?

RM: Oh, yeah.

R: Are there other half-human, half-Cylon children?

RM: You never know.

R: Why did Roslin have a mental connection to Sharon and Six and not the other Cylons on board?

RM: They are fundamentally different Cylons.

R: Are these four all full Cylons?

RM: Yes, but they are different fundamentally.

R: Will we meet the final fifth Cylon next season?

RM: I think so.

R: When the Cylon D'Anna (Lucy Lawless) glimpsed the face of one of the final five, she said, "I'm sorry." Since D'Anna tortured Tigh, can we presume she saw his face?

RM: We're developing a storyline dealing with D'Anna and what she saw and who she was talking to. We haven't talked to [Lucy Lawless] about it and she was just cast in a pilot, which makes it tricky. But it's something we would like to look at.

I know starbuck didn't die, just her viper did (remember, hand on the ejection lever?). and the cylons probably had another one (note that the one she was flying in this episode was in better condition than the "Raymond "Raygun" Lai" one she normally flew).

again,

Sorry you're wrong man.

In both podcasts and official notes both the actress playing Kara and Roger Moore (basically the head of the show) said she in fact died, not to mention they said she wasn't a cylon.

before at all

GALACTICA ROCKS

This is THE series.

This ep ROCKS. The trial (heh, how the lawyer manipulate faking with his broken leg) and how baltar now is free. I hope that lawyer back! :D

So, this are the 5 left, right? (Starbuck, Chief, Tigh, Tory Foster and Samuel Anders). WOW. Kick ass that ala NIN song, when they come to that room.

And the EARTH!. Wow, still there, somehow still there, and seems to be habitable.

damn and its the end of this season. DAMN.

I hope this series, never EVER, ends!.

If she's not a Cylon, how does she come back? That doesn't make any sense...

I also was wondering if the song version from the episode was available somewhere.

don't know if it's available as of yet but i'm sure with enough request it will be. the artist is listed at the end of the credits. here's a blurb and link.

So how did I go about creating this unique version of All Along the Watchtower?

The first hurdle to overcome was finding a singer. Fortunately, I have one in the family! My brother Brendan, professionally known as Bt4, brought his incredible talent to the track. As much as I lavished on the instrumental arrangement, it is his vocal performance that holds the whole thing together. You guys have all heard him sing before, on the first season's Main Title, and on Season Two's The Cylon Prisoner from "Pegasus." I play in his band, so he owed me a favor anyway! By the way, our newest EP is really worth checking out (www.bt4online.com).

Anyone notice that the zoom out at the end showed the milky way, shifted focus to the adjacent solar system and zoomed back in on Earth. They are close... sets up his telescope... I wonder what they will do when they get here. I have a bad premonition about this...

If she's not a Cylon, how does she come back? That doesn't make any sense...

if they use it from the original series i guess it could be thanks to the "ship of lights" or that she is a "being of light" . While I dont think they are going to flat out replicate that part of the series, i think it gave them some great ideas to go on. But it or something like it definately explains the following.

The avatar forces Kara to confront her past, the abuse she received from her mother and the guilt she feels for leaving her mother to die alone. The avatar comments that Kara had been running from her past just she had been running away from death for her entire life, and implied that eventually she would have to confront her fears and her "destiny." Moments before regaining consciousness in her Viper, Kara realizes that the person she is speaking to is not the Cylon Leoben Conoy, and states, "You're not Leoben!" The avatar grins and says, "Never said I was." She awakens in her Viper cockpit as Apollo is calling for her to break off and ascend, or the atmospheric pressure will kill her. Starbuck keeps flying into the storm, and tells Lee to leave her. She is encompassed by a white light and a certain calmness. Apollo witnesses her Viper exploding, with no sign that she survived.

Well, I couldn't post anything about this season finale until now since my PC got nuked (video card died) and I'm on an old arse 9600 that can't play any games (its busted also) but at least I'm online!

Anyways, I thought the season finale was incredible. Certainly better than last seasons finale, though obviously maybe not as "shocking" I suppose. Either way, since I haven't watched the show in literally months anyway, I'm just confuzzled a bit about it :D

I'm fairly certain that WAS Starbuck, but what is she is the next question. Cylon? I don't think so. Interesting angle with Anders and Sol etc, I don't think they are Cylons either, but that's just me. The President's story arc, I have no clue what's going on, so I can't comment on it really.

But overall, the last 3 or 4 minutes of the episode were stellar, and the final shot of them panning out was wonderful. It's sad that next season will more than likely be the final one, GG Sci-FI as usual. I certainly hope 22 episodes (and the one tv movie) will be enough to wrap things up. Then again, who knows maybe the ratings will improve and they will get a 5th season :D One can only hope.

I was thinking that, too, but

according to Ronald Moore, the creator/exec of the show, they are indeed Cylons

. I wonder why Anders would be a Cylon. He's not even in a position of power to affect the fleet. Saul is second in command of Galactica, Tory could at least manipulate the president, Tyrol could interfere with Viper repair, but Anders is just a nugget.

^well I guess, they were shown again in the 5 white robes :) other than that i guess they got our hopes up. Which I am fine with, atleast it ads more suspense to the final season.

We saw the 5 robes when D'Anna saw them during the Eye of Jupiter episodes. LOL I'm going to watch the episode again and see if there are any subtle clues. Maybe it's the president... oh the irony if that was the case.

R: Are these four all full Cylons?

RM: Yes, but they are different fundamentally.

I think since

they were activated when they got a certain distance to earth, from an earth song, that they were created by the 13th Tribe (earth) and have not turned against their makers like the other 7 whom we've known about up to now

If Starbuck isn't the 5th, my theory is...

There are 2 characters that made references to other cylons. Baltar thought he was earlier in the season and Leoben, told Roslin at the end of the episode in season 1 when he was being interrogated by Starbuck, that Adama was a Cylon. I don't recall if he just said Adama, or Captain Adama. Then in another episode one of the Cylons (I think it was D'Anna to Baltar) said there is always some truth to what Leoben says. Then in the episode where D'Anna sees the 5, she said, "He was right".

So expectedly it's Baltar or someone who is an Adama. I think it being Baltar would be too simple, plus he should have activated when the rest of them did...which is possible, because he seemed kinda dazed for a sec, but that could have also been he was scared at the power being cut in an attempt to assassinate him. I personally think having Baltar a Cylon would be too simple. Lee Adama and Admiral Adama didn't activate either nor did Duarla (Adama my marriage).

So now my theory is that it is Zach Adama who is the 5th. Thought that would require D'Anna to have been able to know who Zach Adama is, which is possible if there was any records of Adama's history on any of the other ship on new caprica during the occupation.

i grabbed this from gateworld discussion on it, but it was a cool insightful post so i thought i would share

The other day I read some stuff on wikipedia about ancient greek mythology and it might not be intentional or that the writers just got inspiration but BSG has many parallels to The War between the Titans and the Olympian gods. There were 12 titans(cylons and one of them: Rhea helped the Titans' offspring to try and supplant the old gods. Galactica's crew are of course the olympian gods led by Apollo's father Zeus(Adama). The olympian gods win of course and the titans are sent to deepest darkest and nastiest place of the underworld to be tortured for eternity. But here's the thing that got my attention: 5 of 12 titans actually helped Zeus and his siblings and later became an important part of the new order of gods. In addition to the 5 good titans Rhea is the titan that initially helped Zeus(Adama) to avoid the head titan Cronus and later supplant him. In Greek mythology Rhea is the mother of the goddess Hera . Sorry if someone has already brought this up, but for me it was interesting to notice nonetheless. In this story though the humans/Olympian gods are actually the offspring of the Titans/Cylons. On Galactica it's the other way around but who knows
