I loved, last summers, Batman Begins. I thought it was brilliant and so much better than the previous Batman films.

So I just thought I share some news on the sequel, which has been announced, will be named The Dark Knight. It was also announced that Heath Ledger has been cast as the Joker. And the role for Harvey Dent (who eventually becomes two face) is, apparently, one of the most sought after roles at the moment.

Just wondering what you guys thought of Batman Begins, and would like to see in the sequel or what you don't want to see in the sequel...

Yeah loved batman begins, I think this has great potential as long as they can keep it adult. As another member suggested the original ones were cartoon/kiddish im not sure exactly how you can keep a movie with characters like the joker and 2 face adult without looking cartoonish but hopefully they will pull it off.

I hope the penguin isnt in it, I never did like that character.

Loved Batman Begins as it was true to the essence of "The Dark Knight". Christian Bale rocks as Batman. He brings the same intensity that you one can expect in Bruce Wayne. (By the way - anyone know he was rejected for James Bond as he was considered "too intense" ).

Really love the title of the sequel... (No points for guessing why? :D)

The first two Batman movies weren't "kiddie" at all. They were pretty dark, in fact. It was only when Joel Schumacher got ahold of the series did we wind up with plotlines that weren't even remotely plausible, a Gotham City bathed in crazy neon lights and batsuits with nipples. Yes, it's based on a comic book, but the first two weren't completely batty (haha, i kill me).

I heard about this a few months ago and was extremely excited. I agree with all of you on the old movies were way to "kiddie" For gods sake Prince did the soundtrack.. hehe

But I think Christian Bale is definately the best batman. Keaton was great but Bale is the best.

Can't wait to see this one

On a side note, is it just me or is this the time for comic movies? I mean for the next 4 yrs we have a TON of great comic book movies coming out.

Iron Man

Spiderman

Transformers

Wolverine

etc..

The movie probably won't be released until 2008, and Chris Nolan(director) says it will be even dark. I also remeber Bale saying he would love to do an "R" rated version with more sex and violence.

There's also rumours that the story will be continued in a third film, Covering the whole"two-face accident".

I still fail to see how Batman and Robin was ever made

and don't forget frank miller's 300, looks amazing.

Thought I'd just dump this up with some new info:

Aaron Eckhart is to have been cast as Harvey Dent, who becomes Two Face.

Also Katie Holmes won't be returning and her character is rumoured to be recast to Maggie Gyllenhaal. I believe filming starts in a month or so.

I think this is also Chris Nolans (director) and Christian Bales first ever sequel!

I love both Chritian Bale and Chris Nolan, fantastic team for these movies.

I would love for them to make it R rated, that would be fantastic.

I was about to say that Maggie Gyllenhaal is a bit plain, but then I realized how warped movie roles and actresses have made me. Hopefully she does a good job. If Harley is in htis movie I would love to see Brittany Murphy play her. I don't really love Brittany Murphey, but she definetly has the look for a deranged chick.

Yeah I agree about the originals. They werent really kids movies at all but rather quite styalised as if they were filmed to play out like a comic book. I mean watch scenes like where the penguin dies and his face is covered in grime/blood or whatever. And the whole kidnapping children ect. Certainly was a dark film just wrapped up in such a form as it didnt look to be as serious as it otherwise may have been had it been directed differently.

Anyway I liked begins and love Christian Bale as an actor so this will be good to see.

The previous batman movies were such a mess, I didn't watch Batman Begins for a year after it was released. My friends kept telling me it was the best Batman movie ever. I would agree. And it is the best comic book movie adaptation ever and almost my favorite action movie.

I'm going to see the next movie in theaters. :) And I hope they make it an R rated movie, the comic books were always really dark and violent, the movie deserves no less!!!!!

Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
