Crazysah
Those images are leaked and I think should be marked with a spoiler :| The full film isn't in IMAX... is it? QuantumTrickery
The full film was not shot in IMAX. Only a few of the big action scenes were shot in it. Lqv2015
The 1st review of "The Dark Knight" (Spoiler Warning: Text will be made white.) A first review of The Dark Knight?Date: April 8, 2008 By: George 'El Guapo' Roush Source: Batman On Film Super awesome Latinoreview.com reader Dave sent me this link about a Portugese insider who has reportedly seen The Dark Knight. Since it's translated text, I'll just let the brief review speak for itself: "Thanks to a a rough translation from Portuguese from BOF contributor Alexandre Winck (His commentary is in bold below), the following may be the first review of THE DARK KNIGHT -- albeit a covert one. Alexandre says, "I can assure [you all that] the blog is well-known in Brazil (Globo is the largest media corporation here) and the author is a respected journalist." So here goes (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!): "My secret agent between the Armani suits saw a super private session for THE DARK KNIGHT and came out drooling. It will be a great success, he guarantees, the gadgets (especially the [bat-Pod], responsible for a acclaimed action sequence ) are crazy and Heath Leger might receive a deserved indication for his Joker, ?a mixture of a fool/clown, schizophrenic, sadistic, and crazy. The guy delivered, got himself into the role and it's unrecognizable. There will be no other Joker after him.?" "In one scene he repeats to Christian Bale's Batman a line from BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (The guy probably is probably confused here) ?you complete me? -- but in context of 'stalker, crazy/scary.'" [blacked-out - Jett] "Another scene with Ledger/The Joker playing dead inside a body bag caused adverse reactions in the audience, for obvious reasons -- it will possibly be cut. (I hope not!)" ?My ?Bond? tells more about the somber epic of Chris Nolan:?It's incredible to create something new and exciting, not only for i's history but in technical terms, nowadays. Many great scenes, impeccable effects. Music and sounds pretty loud, but helping the story. They have a heart beat they use in a sensational way (Remember the 2 note theme from the interview with Zimmer?!), anticipating the next scene -- a psychological trigger ala JAWS ('tan-tan, taqn-tan') ." "The cast is awesome, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman stealing scenes in which all are present. Maggie Gyllenhaal fantastic replacing Katie Holmes and Aaron Eckhart as a great surprise as the politician with a heart of gold whose personality changes after a horrible accident. Another surprise is Eric Roberts as the mobster he knows so well how to do. Christian Bale solid as ever, cool since Bruce Wayne is a rich playboy and Batman is the opposite. The film plays a lot with this duality, all the characters are complex, has ambiguities, very interesting and delicate here." "The humor/comedy is totally dark, the movie is very dark and, in this version, a little too long. But will blow us away.? I'll say this, there's a few things that the "review" mentions that I was privy to and that makes me believe that this is legit. And if so, it looks as if TDK is going to be one HELL of a movie!" Not sure how legit this is, but if it's true, The Dark Knight looks more and more like it's going to blow Batman fans away. Rappy Veteran Posted April 8, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 8, 2008 Dunno how legit that is but who knows, its still a little while before the film actually comes out and would be early for a preview. Rappy Veteran Posted April 9, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 9, 2008 Major Scene to be Cut BATMAN SCREENER AUDIENCES UPSET BY LEDGER BODYBAG SCENE Early audience screenings of new BATMAN movie THE DARK KNIGHT have left viewers stunned thanks to an unfortunate scene featuring late actor HEATH LEDGER's THE JOKER playing dead in a bodybag. The unsettling scene has prompted studio bosses at Warner Brothers to consider cutting the footage from the sequel when it hits cinemas on full release in July (08). Writing on BlogLog.Globo.com, one internet critic, who claims a source saw the film recently, writes, "My secret agent between the Armani suits saw a super private session for The Dark Knight and came out drooling. "It will be a great success, he guarantees, the gadgets... are crazy and Heath Ledger... delivered, got himself into the role and it's unrecognisable. There will be no other Joker after him."But the blogger claims audience members were a little taken aback by one scene, where Ledger's character plays dead "inside a body bag". He adds, "It caused adverse reactions in the audience, for obvious reasons. It will possibly be cut. (I hope not!)" Warner Brothers publicists were unavailable for comment as WENN went to press. Kushan
That's a big shame...so what if the character is in a body bag and the Actor happened to die, is it that big a deal? Does it mean we should go back and censor ALL films that have a dead body in them if the actor playing that dead body has died? Really? Leave the film as it was intended, that's the film Heath made and I'm sure that's the film he'd like to be put on the big screen, if he were still alive. +Nik Louch Subscriber² Posted April 9, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted April 9, 2008 You know, if Ledger was so into the role, if he believed in the role so passionately. Why would they cut his work? Surely as an artiste he would object! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/502753-the-dark-knight/page/29/#findComment-589324887 Share on other sites
Lqv2015
I knew Nolan was gonna edit some scenes. I can't help but wonder if him playing the Joker had anything to do with it. They found sleeping pills next to him, and he had said he was losing sleep after playing such a horrific character. He said it was draining physically & emotionally. I think Nolan will cut out scenes to make the Joker less "horrific" in honor of Heath. acies
Batman-on-film.com is saying that the "cut scene rumour" isn't true, and that the review, if true, wouldn't be of the final film. 1Frothy
Test audiences watching the new Batman flick were reportedly so upset at a scene featuring the late Heath Ledger in a bodybag, that studio bosses may cut the scene.Heath's character, The Joker, plays dead by lying in the bodybag - a sight which proved too close to home for some viewers, according to a source on BlogLog.Globo.com. The source said the movie "will be a great success... Heath Ledger delivered, got himself into the role and it's unrecognisable. There will be no other Joker after him." The movie's publicists have not commented on the controversial scene - guess we'll find out when the film hits screens in July. User6060
fiction and real life are different things. he's dead, theres no denying or pretending he is not so even though the image displays something that is true to life and you might not want to see it you don't have to watch. acies
Already posted in the Offcial thread: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...5&start=705 And also probably not true. I think the Chris Nolan (director) has said that he wouldn't be editing parts from the movie because of Heath Ledgers death. 1Frothy
I hope the scene isn't cut either. Heath put a lot of effort and talent into this movie, I don't think he would want his hard work cut. Already posted in the Offcial thread:https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...5&start=705 And also probably not true. I tend to trust that news source. But sure, I hope it's not true also. xpgeek
I say leave it in. It might upset some people, but, hes playing a whacked out psycho joker like we've never seen before, if that one scene is gonna be too much for you so soon after his real death, then, don't see the film at all. Don't screw with the final product the way the director, n heath himself, probly wanted it. zeta_immersion
I agree, leave the movie as it is ... yes he passed away but after putting so much work in it would be stupid to edit the movie ... Lqv2015
Movie Hole: Some not-so-Bat-tastic news has been circling the corridors of the Interweb the last few days. According to quite a few sites, some of Heath Ledger?s scenes from ?The Dark Knight? are going to be trimmed from the movie. Why? Because test-screening audiences can?t separate themselves from the fact that Ledger?s merely playing a character here ? and, er, not himself. All they see is a dark and morbid soul who Spoiler Alert ends up in a body-bag in the movie. Yes, I can understand how this might be unsettling for some to watch? but again, Ledger is playing a character. A CHARACTER? not re-creating the news coverage of his death. (I?m referring to one scene in particular in the movie in which Ledger?s Joker is hiding inside a body-bag. It?s apparently, according to the rumour mill, the first thing to go from the movie.) Or is it? A source close to the ?The Dark Knight? told us this morning that the film remains in-tact ? and nothing of Ledger?s will be cut from the movie, including the body-bag scene. ??I KNOW for a fact that that scene is in the film. I also know that WB has made no such mandate and that Chris [Nolan] is honest when saying that he will not change what was intended with The Joker.? Good news indeed.
