in my opinion even though The Dark Knight is quite good it's still a little overrated over at IMDB's website which it currently has a 9.x/10... and even though i gave it a 9/10 myself if i had to choose a 8 or 10 i would say 8... a 8.5/10 is probably more like it... overall i feel it's average rating should be NO HIGHER than mid 8's tops.

but i do feel it's the movie to beat in it's genre which is the super hero/comic book type genre.

but i could still find quite a few movies i would take over The Dark Knight.... but i think ultimately, Ledger made The Dark Knight as popular as it is.... without him it would have still made alot of money in theaters but not nearly as much as it currently is, which aint far from 1billion dollars worldwide (currently at about 949million worldwide as i type this according to boxofficemojo.com)

Ok, maybe I didn't pay attention or something, but what is this "six" and "ten" argument about, which scene exactly? Because, the only one I can remember is towards the end when he tells that cop why he likes killing with a knife. :|

That's the one.

Obviously TEN

EDIT:

Woop, my thousandth post was about SIX vs TEN.

It's best it stays that way of not knowing but yeah I think its that scene.

I don't know if any of you have ever seen any of the Destructoid's Hey Ash, whatcha playin? episodes yet, but they did a spoof of a TDK scene here, it's awesome.

i vote shut your mouths or i'll punch that bleaker kid in the weiner.

LMFAO!!!

The biggest laughs I have had all night.

On another note, I saw the movie 5 times in the theaters and he said six, not ten.

Heh, I LOVE Hey Ashly, whatcha playing? now, awesome videos. The Dark Knight spoof was just terrific if you ask me, she did a great job impersonating The Joker there (I know some people disagree) and yes, she is a girl :D

And I've seen TDK 3 times now, I actually appreciate the movie more after seeing it more.

Hoffman Responds to Rumours

Yesterday, we reported that “Dark Knight” castmember Michael Caine claimed that as far as he knew, the villains for the next “Batman” film had been cast with Johnny Depp landing the role of The Riddler, and Philip Seymour Hoffman playing The Penguin. Today at the Toronto Film Festival, we went right to the source and asked Hoffman directly if he indeed had been cast as The Penguin.

“No one has talked to me about it ever — never,” replied Hoffman. “It happened, like, five years ago, too. It was a rumor back then and it’s still a rumor. [laughs] It’s just in the press. It’s funny.”

To further cement this issue, Hoffman added that he’d never met Nolan (”Maybe I did or met him in passing?”), and that his interest in comic book movies is purely on a fan level, and he intended to keep it that way.

“I’m such a fan of those movies,” related Hoffman. “Comic book movies in general I look forward to — I am a real cheerleader for them. I want them to do well because those are terrific stories. As a kid I was a big comic book collector. What [Nolan]’s doing is taking it in a whole other exciting great place. I’m more a fan, so the interest of being in it isn’t that great. It’s more the interest in wanting to see the next one. It’s probably better that way.”

When further pressed for his level of interest if Warner Bros. approached him about the role, Hoffman said, “I don’t know. I think I’m more interested in seeing someone else do it. I don’t know if I’d be a good Penguin to be quite honest. [laughs]”

Dark Knight to be Re-Released for Oscars

Warner Bros. Pictures plans to rerelease blockbuster The Dark Knight in January, the height of Academy Awards voting season, says The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people," a source told the trade.

Warners domestic distribution president Dan Fellman acknowledged ongoing talks with IMAX executives about the prospect of restoring the film to some number of giant-screen venues in January. It's uncertain if The Dark Knight also will reappear in conventional theaters at that point.

To date, the film has earned about $513 million domestically and $440 million internationally, including more than $55 million in IMAX grosses. The DVD and Blu-ray Disc are expected to hit stores in December.

Superhero Hype! has gotten its hands on a couple early images from the upcoming Blu-ray DVD for Christopher Nolan's record-setting action movie Dark Knight, which has grossed over $520 million domestically and another $450 million internationally.

Although the standard commercial version of the Blu-ray release will probably have the same poster image of Batman standing in front of a building emblazoned with his logo, we've received an image of a Blu-ray cover featuring an image of Heath Ledger's Joker, and we also have a look at the insert of the Special Edition Blu-ray, which will be available at the same time.

Our source that hooked us up with these imagies told us that the Blu-ray would include "BD Live" and that there would be a 3-disc version with the 3rd disc being a digital copy for iPod or other video player.

    • WTF! Nah, not this one. If you were back then using computers in the 90s or you had a clue, you'd know this was huge and was seen and overused absolutely everywhere and you'd take this article as no more than a retrospective story. That's all it is.
    • these "editors" get paid by the amount of articles and not the quality of content; hence why we get this random stuff from the same "editor" time and time again.
    • 256 times the quality of an audio cd? I think audio cd's sound good so even twice as good as that would be something.
    • It’s not about the NOx. It’s about the electrical field.
