Well, I finally saw this movie a couple of days ago... Quite worth the hype in my opinion, definitely the best movie of the year so far. And Heath Ledger, I don't know if he got enough screen time to earn that Oscar everyone is saying he deserves, but he really was unbelievable. It's just a shame that it got him slightly demented in real life. (Yes, it did. With no relation to his death, check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKa-aDga1fE)

But the above said, this movie will not go into my list of favorite films, because the last 25 minutes ruined it. I really didn't feel the ending, the whole Batman taking on the villain role thing. And the building scene before that, Batman fighting his way to the Joker, not nearly epic enough. Not to mention that the whole sonar thing made me feel like I was back watching one of Joel Schumacher's Batcheese productions.

And then there was the ferry scene, which was about the most unrealistic thing in this movie. A boat full of criminals, and another boat full of "innocent people" who only a couple of scenes prior were all too happy to try assassinate Coleman Reese to prevent the Joker from blowing up a building? And out of all those people, not one blowing up the other boat? Not one fighting for their survival? I mean, that's the kind of outcome I'd expect from a Disney film, not a film that tries to get itself taken seriously as a crime drama.

But yea, all in all, definitely a must-see movie.

Edit: Fixed link. Bloody IPB...

What has that youtube video (that you messed up the URL to) got to do with what you said about Heath?

I didn't mess up the link, damn board did. I just pasted the URL and it failed to convert it properly. I manually added the link now.

Anyway, look at Ledger's body movements in this video. Poor ****er couldn't even sit still. That is not a healthy person.

He got plenty of screen time imo. And I would really reject the idea that the role made him "demented" in real life, I think it's rubbish to be fair. Your video link is broke, but this is what Bale says:

(@4:00)

Though I agree with your thoughts on the ending, though not as harshly. It did feel over done and even silly.

That figure its indeed great. Looks very real.

Indeed, the attention to detail is certainly good!

Counting inflation, Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight has now officially surpassed Spider-Man to become the biggest comic book movie of all time. The Christopher Nolan sequel has reached $492.689 million domestically while Spider-Man hit a total of $491.952 when you look at the inflated number ($403.7 million without inflation).

Looking at the worldwide numbers, Variety says The Dark Knight will reach $900 million this weekend:

Crossing the $400 million milestone will place "The Dark Knight" in a club with only 29 other films. What's equally impressive about the sixth Batpic is that it's first in the series to generate a blockbuster number outside the U.S. "Batman Begins" generated the previous high number with a relatively modest $166 million.

The U.K. has led the way for "Dark Knight" with $86 million, followed by Australia with $40 million, Mexico with $25 million, Brazil with $19 million and South Korea with $18.6 million. With Germany in its second weekend and France in its third, and worldwide grosses going past $900 million this weekend, the Batpic may have enough firepower to become only the fourth film to hit $1 billion in combined foreign and domestic box office (after "Titanic," the third "The Lord of the Rings" and the second "Pirates of Caribbean").

And did you participate in the viral marketing campaign for the movie that was created by 42 Entertainment? If so, you'll enjoy this interview with the company's CEO Susan Bonds and CCO Alex Lieu.

This new joker one looks much more like Heath than the last. They are damn tempting to buy. But the 150+ price tag is less tempting
I was gonna say the same thing. I can't believe how much it looks like him.
It would be great, but I doubt it.
Tommy Lee Jones as 2face is not bad but now Ekhart owns that role it makes him look really bad, Val Kilmer has the low voice as well!

The low voice in the Dark Knight is one of the <snipped> voices im ever hear! I felt awkward watching him trying to pull off that voice!

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
