Took my camera to the city tonight the old building with blue lights is the casino it was raining to it was a constant battle with the rain many of my shots has rain on the lens.

dude pleas post a tutoial on how you go about doing the exposures and then doing the hdr composition i followed the tuts on page 2 an i get nothing like you

I can't really go into detail on how to gather the exposures... Honestly that part is really up to you and the camera. You need at least 3 exposures, in different f/stops such as -2, 0, +2. It does take time and practice to get the hang of things with both taking the pictures and doing the merging/tonemapping. I only post the good ones and there are plenty of bad ones that didn't turn out well.

What settings did you use for that mate? was it was the standard lens?

Yeah kit lens with a tripod and a wired remote to release the shutter I experimented with TV and AV mode during the night I think I also used cloudy white balance.

quick question, what is AV and TV mode? and do nikon D50s support this, what difference does it make to your image?

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe that

Tv means Timed Value, changing this value will change the time that the mirror will be kept open so the photo chip receives more light, the larger the value the longer the lens will stay opened

Av means Aperture Value, changing this value will change the size of the lens this has also got to do with the amount of light the photo chip receives.

I believe Nikon D50 has those funcions though it has a different name?

That?s right yep my understanding of it is:

TV you select the shutter speed or the time the shutter is open and the camera will select the Aperture Value.

AV you select the aperture value and the camera will select the shutter speed

Manual you do both

ah i see yea the dial with A,M,P,S yea i knew what these were i just got confused i thought it was something different, just another name i guess

Your best bet is to just experiment heaps then download them and look at the EXIF data to see what settings you used you will get the hang of it after a while.

Again I want to state that I am blown away by what people contribute here. I would love to upgrade from my crappy Fuzi Zoom and get to somewhere like you guys are :)
