CNN Ridicules Microsoft Zune

For the most part, I agree with the review. Zune didn't try hard enough to please users and draw people away from Apple, instead it gives us crippled devices that can only play shared songs for 3 days/3 plays!? Screw that. Cater to your BUYER not the stupid music industry...

Sharing it for any more time would be considered piracy, wouldn't it? I doubt you will have any mp3 player these days have a unlimited sharing feature.

Get a load of this

This is Microsoft's first attempt. Imagine what their 2nd generation of the Zune could do.

Slowely they are learning just like with the Xbox.

Exactly, this is a really good try from Microsoft. And like you said, look at the Xbox, you never know what Microsoft are planning. Everyone just seems to bash them whenever they make a product. Okay okay, so they have had their bad moments. But do give them a break. :)

"it does a couple of things that are a little bit cooler than the ipod, but a lot of things that probably aren't"

Love how when the female reporter held up her personal Shuffle, the reviewer commented "Now that's the thing that's a lot sexier than this" in reference to the Zune.

Or when the reporter in the middle asks the question "why don't they get some decent design people...it's clunky, it's clunky..."

I think that clip summed up everything perfectly...the only people that'll be interested in buying a Zune will be to shake their little fists at Apple. Most -normal- people (read: people without Vista/Microsoft avatars on the nerd tech forums they post on all day) will think this thing is a clunky, poorly-implemented turd.

That being said its like compairing a Ipod against a shuffle... hell CNN lets compair apples to apples....

(omg what a pun)

Whenever I look at the Zune, I'm reminded of 1980 style mobile phones. A curious object, the size of a brick, that you really wouldn't want to be seen carrying out with you now, for fear of being ridiculed, even by old people.
