No it is not. Soda companies have different recipes for different part of the world. A perfect example is Sprite in the US and Sprint in Mexico. The Mexican Sprint is not near as fizzy and a lot more syrupy in taste.

I have a buddy that collects Coke products from all over the world and he has collected Coke from around 12 different countries and they all tasted different from each other.

Uhhm.... if he COLLECTS coke, then why would he be drinking it? :|

And I have also heard what someone mentioned about corn syrup fructose or something being Used in USa whereas other places use sugar.

Yes because of the U.S. Import regulations on cane sugar the Coke in the U.S. is made with corn syrup. It could be made with cane sugar but it would have to from U.S. grown sugar cane which would be far too expensive (in the area of $2.00 a can). What's funny is this is the third time U.S. vs. Mexico coke has come up today for me.

I don't get people who say they love the taste of say for example Coke but can't stand the taste of Pepsi and vise versa, I mean come on they taste almost the same  How can you love one but absolutely hate the other?

people have different tastes and i know that coke tastes better than pepsi. i only drink pepsi if i have kfc. pepsi always makes me thirsty after i drink it. it tastes pretty crappy.

coke ftw :)

Also have noticed a difference from Soda Fountain to Soda Fountain as that's mixed with water and what not.

That's because the seller is cheating on the mixing ratio of Coke syrup to carbonated water. It's supposed to be 5:1 and diet is supposed to be 5.5:1.

Someone once told me (and I dont know if its true or not so dont quote me on it! :)) that the different parts of coke are shipped separately and then mixed at a local facility in order to help protect the recipe. So that would mean that depending on how they mixed it, it would taste different. But like I said I have no idea if this is true or not :), just thought I would throw it out there maybe someone can verify/correct me.

hmm.. never noticed a difference in taste by geographical location, but it sure tates different whether it is small bottled (591ml), big bottled (2L), fountain, or canned. I prefer it bottled actually. I'm sick of all the restaurants using fountain coke, so I go to KFC just for the pepsi once in a while

It's the same with Guinness.

Guinness will never taste as good as it does in Ireland.

When I was in Canada I bought a pint of draught guinness (cost me eight quiid), and it tasted horrendous.

Guinness just doesn't travel well at all.

:)

Seems to be true with Draught, stout is different and doesnt seem to have the same problems. The Jamacians love the stout.

As for the coke, you need to consider that the coke that you get out of a dispencer is going to be different because it comes as a syrup in a condensed tank and is mixed and fizzed by the dispenser.

Yep there are a couple places in Brisbane that make really really bad syrup coke it has way to much water in it

The best Coke is in mexico because it is the only place where they still use Cane sugar instead of High Fructose Corn syrup.

nope, thats because the spike it with tequila...:)

And it can be flat..no fizz

its the same all over the world

Not True, Coke has 'tweaks' for different countries.

Example of some changes; Mexican Coke uses Cane Sugar, Majority of US Coke uses HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup). South American Coke has a slightly different formula, not as sweet.

Exactly! I've had Coke bottled 'Latin' style and Capetown, SA style. Very different mixes. I love what I call Cuban Coke. Very tasty! :woot:

The Coke that is made in Cape Town (Penisula Beverage Co (Pty) Ltd) has a solid "bite" to it and is not horrendously sweet! I find that the tins and the glass bottles are very similar. The plastic bottles are not as fizzy, but still tastes pretty much the same!
