Mac OS X 'Leopard'-related Discussion

I'm still waiting to see the final default wallpaper. A little too "stock photo" for Mac.

Does anyone know when the Aqua wallpapers came out in comparison to the release dates?

Jobs specifically said that they were getting rid of the Aqua wallpaper at WWDC 07. The reason? "Because nobody uses it."

It'd be nice if Apple put up a small wallpaper category on their website with a new wallpaper every month... they're really able to do nice ones...

I quite like that idea.

Radish?

I don't think they will be releasing aqua wallpapers for leopard??

I was asking that, from history, during the Tiger beta, when was the final Aqua wallpaper released, as an insight to when a final wallpaper for the Leopard beta might be released.

Well yeah, but it's a very recognisable image. People see that wallpaper and they instantly know -- bam! That's one of them Mac computers. The aqua wallpaper is (was?) Apple's brand.

It's different is all.

Not really... Seriously, it was just a wallpaper. It was about as recognizable to OS X as Bliss was to WinXP.

I quite like that idea.

Not only that. As I understand, the promo photos they use for iPhoto, in OS X demos are all staff members taking pictures on vacations and such. Some of them would make some pretty cool wallpapers. There's some really good photographers on staff @ Apple.

Would Leopard's terminal work in Tiger? I could sure use the tabs right about now... :p

It might. I was able to port the Leopard version of iCal over to Tiger, although some of the graphics were a bit off.

Could someone please post a screenshot of the Spaces Menubar item and describe what the login window looks like.

In 9A559, the logon screen looks exactly as it did in Tiger, except it uses the Aurora wallpaper instead of Aqua Blue.

New build is out according to MacRumors.. anyone got it / tried it yet?

What's the build number? I'd imagine it to be the gold master, as 9A559 is very stable, at least for me. I've been using it as my primary OS for a few weeks now.

Wow... You got it fast!

Can you confirm if Apple has finally implemented the iTunes 7 scroll bars systemwide yet? At this point, if they haven't, then I'm going to assume that they will be in the final product, and Apple never intended to change them at all.

He doesn't have the build. 'numberz' on insanelymac modified his resource string to change the build number.

Apple had expected to declare their upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Gold Master this week. "Gold Master" status is given the final shipping version of the software which is sent to duplicators for distribution.

Based on our sources, Apple had not quite reached that goal, but today released an internal "GM candidate build" which could represent the final version of Mac OS X Leopard, if no other issues are found.

Apple has been working against the clock to get Leopard duplicated and shipped for an October release. October 26th has been noted to be planned ship date, and Apple has already been training support staff in anticipation of its release.

The Build number for the latest GM candidate is said to be 9A581.

The build has not leaked yet, and has not been sent to developers yet.

Interface Builder is in the developer tools. Give me 10 minutes and i'll post some screenshots.
