It's come from John Siracusa, too, who has historically been very critical of the Dock and Finder.

Any chance someone know where I can get the full version or a longer video of the Introduction to Aqua he has in his review? I don't remember seeing that one.

Ars always has The best reviews for any new os release.

I like how in the review he keeps pushing the APE but we all know how the APE went when upgrading Tiger and how it doesn't work in Leopard and probably never will.

APE works by intercepting system calls and working with what it thinks are statically assigned libraries and memory allocations. The very security feature of Leopard, randomly assigned memory allocations for libraries, and sandboxing was meant to keep (illicit) applications from doing this. And now APE doesn't work, because the security holes it was exploiting to function aren't there anymore.

So the blue-screening thing shouldn't be posted either then. Leopard's release wasn't even posted on the Apple section of the Front Page. We shouldn't be allowed to talk about Linux and UNIX then. Lame excuse matey. :rolleyes:

Anyone else getting a weird error with mail where it keeps asking for your account password and won't remember it no matter how many times you tell it. Its getting on my nerves.

Xero. I am getting the same thing. Happens to all my mail accounts. Can't seem to find a solution at the moment. :(

So has anyone tried installing 10.5 on a G4? I ordered my copy of OS X 10.5 but I only have a 1GHz G4 but with 1.5GB RAM.

I've installed it on my 1ghz G4 power book with 768mb of ram,

its works perfectly (except for the opaque menu) faster then Tiger

1.02 Ghz, 1.25 GB RAM iBook - Works fine. Any slowness that I thought I noticed has gone away (spotlight indexing?). I say go for it.

Anyone else getting unusually high memory usage with Safari? I do have a lot of windows with tabs open but in Tiger it was 400MB mark. In Leopard its 1200MB. Not to mention however much virtual memory its using.

Nice to know I'm not the only one with the Keychain problem, and that update didn't fix it. I did however use an app called Service Scrubber just before it started to happen, did you Kraized?

Hmm. Thinking about it I used Service Scrubber shortly after I installed Leopard. I can't remember if Mail was acting up before that though. :wacko:

By the way, where are those top secret features we were promised? :blink:

Errm. They were all revealed at WWDC '07.

Thats my concern I was reading up on Apples discussions on it, and someone mentioned they used Service Scrubber prior to this happening, and I know I did. I have to wait until my brother is back, he didn't use it and I think his is fine. Only downside is, I tried re-enabling all the services, but that didn't make a difference, so if it was that, I think the damage has already been done. I'm almost positive mine worked before using it, I think I would have remembered something as annoying as this

EDIT: As of April 13, they didn't know what they were from the way I read this article. The WWDC is in January isn't it?

No. MacWorld is in January. WWDC is in either July or August.

Did you try Repairing Permissions and restarting after enabling all the Services? I can't do mine at the moment as I'm in work. Not doing very much work. ;)
