Ice cooling - am I a genius?

Recommended Posts

Ice cooling! You have a block of ice wrapped in a thin metal which allows heat to travel through, strapped to the CPU, like a heatsink. You then have a cooling system, much like in a freezer!

  • Lower temp
  • Silent
  • No leaks
  • Easier to manage

What's missing in my genius idea? :D

So why do you need the ice?

Uhh...well...hmm...

So the freezer has a friend?

But if you didn't have the ice, the air could escape easier.

well dry ice is −78.5?C

it's carbon dioxide in it's solid state

here's all the info about it.

Looks like I need a bigger freezing thingy:||

i love how you turn our comments into something we can laugh about!

kudos for that buddy!

bad idea. the way you're describing it-- there'll be condensation, and your CPU will be screwed, unless its like the uber ones at xtremesystems.org with uber insulation

What if I have some sort of cleaning device, like a ventilator or squidgee or something, to keep it uncondensed?

But then the icy air would escape...

If anyone is willing to fund my idea, PM me :D

What if you had your cooler head within a vacuum or submersed in a non-conductive solution with no moisture what so ever ;)

With all these add-ons, your cooling system will be the size of a warehouse
