AutoPatcher XP December 2006

post-161462-1167745310.jpg WTH? You mean January 2007?

Also, why hasn't this topic (and the others) been pinned? BTW, this new IP.Board RULZ.

Individual release threads aren't being pinned anymore, they're just linked to from the main "AutoPatcher Releases" thread

What exactly does "Unofficial" mean on the Windows Media Player 11 (Unofficial) update?

That the module has not been made official by the AutoPatcher team. Perhaps it got corrupted or modified.

for pt-br, the first option is valid. i haven't uploaded that to theblazingangel encript it yet (but it can be done, anyway, since that it's uploaded and links for that are posted). i'm 3000km from home now, so it will be done only next week. anyway, you can check that md5 to see if you have downloaded the same thing that i have at home. and i'm running that version. but helps a lot if informed what ap version you have. there's a few ones, you know

I have run the December update and the patch, and then I ran it again because I decided to add Windows Live Messenger back on (had problems with it before), and then I even ran AP one more time to make sure there weren't updates to WLMsgr. Each time I have run AP, the Critical Update KB926247 and Windows Component update for Windows Rights Management Services Client with Service Pack 2 have appeared in black and selected, as if I don't have them yet, and I have selected and installed them each time, but they keep appearing in black.

If it matters, I have XP SP2, and I have not upgraded to IE7. I had previously installed Defender and WMP11, but I have uninstalled both of these and I choose not to use them for now.

After the uninstall/reinstall, WLMsgr now seems to be working fine and doesn't lock up anymore.

I read that KB926247 has something to do with SNMP, but I have no idea what that is or if I have it. I tried to read through here about it, but I'm afraid a lot of the technichal discussions are over my head.

Otherwise, thanks again for a very useful tool!!

Happy New Year!!!

It's normal for this to fail to install

what exactly does an "update" do since im a "have drive will travel" type geek i would like to have an autopatcher set on a portable drive but drinking is required in my case (im running linux so Wine/Cedega is needed) so if i have a full release and then run the update what is going on.

(it would help if i could just unzip the two and overlay but...)

The update release just extracts the new and updated files into the existing AutoPatcher folder.

can someone tell me how to install updates? I have the August Full file. Do I just install the August file and then the December file? Or do I need to install the August Full file and September, October and etc updates?

Also where do I download the December fix file? I have been reading this thread and the autopatcher homepage and it seems I should be able to get the fix from this URL: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=521219. But I cannot find the download link for it.

thanks for the help

You'll need either all of the update releases, or delete your AutoPatcher folder and grab November Full and December update.

The fix can be found here: http://autopatcher.cachefly.net/AutoPatche...4_Patch_ENU.exe

i know, thanks, a lot of work needs to be done on the site to bring things up to date, i'll try to do some stuff after i've finished the releases

Thanks for the AutoPatchers; your work is very much appreciated! :)

I have the August Full and Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec Updates installed. I noticed the December one doesn't have the Module Details button now, which I thought was a good idea and is missed.

Also, would it be possible to have a full-screen option on the installer? Sometimes the module descriptions run out of view, and the dialog box seems a bit claustrophobic sometimes :p

@maf74, module details can now be accessed via the right click menu. ap5.1 does not have a maximize button but you can resize the window! the maximize option will most likely be present in ap v6, or did you mean the actuall nsis installer, 'cus if so i'll have to look into that...

@everyone, new releases are up and available on several mirrors now, i'll post the new release threads, and update the website, etc tomorrow, its really late now, i need sleep

Ah, thanks for that. Yeah, I was just meaning an optional resize of the module window - but you cleared that up for me :)

And for the module details, I'll be right-clicking :D

Cheers!

Ah a feature which will be approved by a few (resize option).

Great. And to download from your site we have to allow advertisements or be re-directed to a Google search results page on why we shouldn't block ads. Why not simply tell people that they can't download from your site unless they support your hosting costs? Even if your point is valid (and I'm not arguing one way or the other), its a irritating method of getting it across.

I think I'll wait for the official mirrors.

Respectfully (if annoyed),

its irritating for me to explain 40mbit+ constant over 2 days to my host and seeing as ads dont come close to covering the cost (on a good month i make back about 10%) i don't give a monkies if it irritates you and you use another mirror, it saves me bandwidth. If you or other people would donate to the cost of my personal* i'd gladly remove ads for those who donated. Also, if ad revenue picks up i'll remove the forced ads or maybe at least put up another way of informing people

* bold to show donations to me personally not to those making autopatcher

    • Because of the EU (a good thing) newer android devices been getting 5 years worth of security patches. Except some Motorola which found the loop hole, and offer ZERO updates. In addition, Google for years have been making where it can patch some stuff by updating the core Google Play Store itself.  As echoed earlier,  you take the security risk in to your own hand beyond supported.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
