lokivanishes Share Posted December 23, 2006 (edited) Well, I don't normally do this, but since you guys were first on the scene, here's a cypher key for you. Impressive job! More to come....but not delivered like this. Keep your eyes on the Post. Good luck! ~L (EDIT: for clarity) Edited December 23, 2006 by lokivanishes

novastar Share Posted December 23, 2006 I get "3scap3gravv1t" but that doesn't work, but it looks somewhat like escape gravity, which also doesn't work haha, nice edit
y_notm Share Posted December 23, 2006 wh0isl0ki ^what you get when you take the yellowed letters and shift left one key on a keyboard. sudoku?
Rob Author Veteran Share Posted December 23, 2006 Well done y_notm ... that is the key ... which brings us to ANOTHER puzzle. Thanks, mystery poster....!
y_notm Share Posted December 23, 2006 Taking another look, maybe not sudoku, but it seems that each set of 9 letters might make a word? And you have to follow the arrows?
ShellShock Share Posted December 23, 2006 For the odd grid, hovering over all the letters, these letters turn the cursor into a text-selecting bar: RIRAUG Might be a clue, blue!
Rob Author Veteran Share Posted December 23, 2006 Don't think it is - if you right click where the cursor turns into a text-selection, you can hit 'copy' - pasting it just gives the countdown timer from the previous page. So I think it's just that the count was hidden rather than removed and it's just being copied there. Could be a clue but could also just be a Flash bug.
Syphonic Share Posted December 23, 2006 My cursor changes to a text one over the letters RIRAUG in the 6th line down. First box is an anagram of JOBS RID US lol
novastar Share Posted December 23, 2006 maybe starting letters for the arrows idea above
Syphonic Share Posted December 23, 2006 What about the numbers in the bottom right?
Anfrony Share Posted December 23, 2006 What about the numbers in the bottom right? Number has 9 digits, 1 for each box? When I got top-left to bottom right with these numbers in each box, I get: DORICJOBR, which doesn't seem to be helpful at all :(
CrimsonRedMk Member Share Posted December 23, 2006 wh0isl0ki ??? That gives me a puzzle ... but now what?
NightmarE D Share Posted December 23, 2006 Usually when you come across a puzzle.....you try to solve it. /sarcasm
DaveLegg Developer Share Posted December 23, 2006 Heres a good question... Once we know the answer, where do we input it? or will the answer this time tell us what this is all about?

Rob Author Veteran Share Posted December 23, 2006 I'm thinking that the login page will function for any of the steps of the puzzle. i.e. once you've found the code, put it in the initial login page to get to step 3. Interestingly enough I think we seem to be one of the only communities who've picked this up. Let's step up the efforts and get some credit for Neowin for being the first to solve this. Rob2687 Share Posted December 23, 2006 I'm guessing on the first page...which will take you to another puzzle probably.

What he said Each puzzle gives you a code to enter in at the login page. That's why they have the back button
norseman Share Posted December 23, 2006 imageshack link I am the invisible sandwich. O RLY? Is it me or is that picture frightening? [edit] I've got it: It's the release of the new US Passports with RFID. Microsoft is working with the Department of Homeland security on encryption. I think the passports are going to run Windows Embedded. In the picture above you can see a little diode looking thing on the cat's face. This is the RFID found in the new US Passports. January 8th Microsoft will hold a demonstration exhibiting their encryption method's success with the hackers at DefCon that were able to read an RFID from over 100 ft away. Invisible Sandwich. It all makes sense. LOL.. I play someone on CS:S with that soray..
spex04 Share Posted December 23, 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loki Im guessing that's the loki that they're on about. This line seems interesting: Loki is an adept shape-shifter, with the ability to change both form (examples include transmogrification to a salmon, horse, bird, flea, etc.) and sex.
