Everything, its more convinent to buy online and a lot cheaper too.

I don't see how either is true.

You need to wait for the product to arrive. I could walk across the street to a store and get what I want right now.

The cost of shipping usually makes online shopping more expensive. Even if they promise free shipping then the cost is usually factored into the item price.

Most of mine i did online, i hate crowds of people.

I haven't got my parents anything yet though and probably wont until after christmas now.

they'd like a photo frame for a picture my mother recieved a couple years back and hasn't gotten around to hanging on the wall yet.

Execpt they haven't told me what size they need or anything, whats likely to happen is my mother will choose one (evenatually  ) and then i'll get it for them, Either that or she'll just buy one then send me the bill

I did about 80% of my Christmas shopping online, I found it easier as you don't have to deal with numpty sales staff, queues and you can normally find stuff cheaper than in the high street for example WWE Smackdown 2007 from GAME ?49.99 online ?39.99 (free shipping) or Play.com ?24.99 (free shipping)

If I wanted to buy something from town I would have to walk to a bus stop, get a bus to town then walk around a busy town looking in different shops. (yes this makes me sound lazey but i hate shopping lol)

Where as on the net if I know what I want to buy can go to Amazon.co.uk or whatever site, add the items to my basket and pay for them in the time it would have taken me to walk to the bus stop.. im then free to get on with my day. As long as they turn up before I swap prezzys with people it don?t really matter when I get them.

Even if you don?t know what you?re buying you can still browse online whale having a nice cuppa tea instead of walking round a freezing cold town.

I think with postage most things are cheaper online, I got a friend this game for xmas http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/1087739/Dea...al/Product.html for ?12 delivered, my mate got the same game for his dad in town and it cost him ?18 even with postage costs (if any?) I saved ?6

I guess it depends on what you prefer, I?m not big on shopping and the sooner its over the b:Dter lol :D obviously if I was buying something like a TV I would have a look at them in a shop so I know what I?m getting.

I think there is the key point. People who don't live in a city will be more willing to consider online shopping.

Canada is highly urbanized, more than the United States (although I don't know how it compares to the United Kingdom). Chances are that Canadians are more likely to live in a major city or town. I could walk to whatever store that I would need (both small PC shops and major big box stores).

Maybe for some people but not really for me. I live in the city, probably no more than 10 minutes from every major chain store you can think of and I kid you not three good sized malls :p If I can get the same item online cheaper it just seems silly to me to go to a store, wait in line and end up paying more.....I mean if something is cheaper in a store I will get it there but I am not going to go to a store just because I want to buy something in person.

We are a big town, the biggest in the UK I was once told (don?t no how true that is) we have most shops you would expect to find in a city.

Online shopping is still more appealing, the main reason to me is the price, for example I?m not going to pay ?10-15 more in town for an Xbox 360 game when I can buy it online and get it the next for quite a bit cheaper.

I have family who live in London (now you carnt say they don?t have a choice of shops down there) and they prefer to buy online too as they don?t have to trail round a huge city that?s extremely busy, again it?s also cheaper for them too.

Personally I think its more down to personal preference more than anything else, my mate got his new TV in town for ?750 knowing of he got it online it would have cost him ?500 but he wanted it there and then where as me i could wait a few days and be happy i saved ?250 for not having a new TV a few days earley.
