Because Reiser4 is the most advanced filesystem in existence. Unlike NTFS, it is fragment-free. It is also crazy fast and very space-efficient (esp. keeping mind the trillions of thumb.db and *.ini files Windows has).

reiser... isn't that the guy that killed his wife.. ?

I'm not huge on the open source stuff, but this may not be legal. Besides, i'd imagine microsoft to be putting winFS or whatever their new filesystem that was due with longhorn, in their new version of windows.

I'm not sure if this exactly fits, but...

Windows Mediaplayer Mini-Mode Track Select Pop-Up via Button or Hover

Yes, I can click next or previous song, but how cool to be able to click (or hover) and have the track list extend from the top of mini-mode and from there be able to select a different track. Currently, you have to expand, select the track you want and then minimize back down to mini-mode. It seems like it would be such a handy feature and simple to implement, but it's not there.

oh boy...

- Better tiling options: I know tiling already exists (docking screen edge and side by side from right clicking on taskbar, but its still lacking in functionality, you can't resize one window and make the other fit)

- Customizeable taskbar: horizontal size, icon sizes and such

- Use the other screen corners: win7 is using the bottom right corner anyway, may as well use the others?

- Virtual Desktops: Already exists in xp (or 98?) powertoys, nothing wrong with bringing it back, desktop scrolling to go through different desktops would be nice, I do that in some linux's WM a lot because my "taskbar" isn't very long, so I have space at the bottom of the screen to scroll

- Better flip3d

- Put instant viewer from intellipoint driver (expose rip off) into Win7 (it's better than flip3 imo)

- More options in Media Player jumplist (at least let us choose playlist, pause etc.)

- More options with IE's jumplist

But unlike ReiserFS, Windows NT isn't developed by a murderer.

NTFS is far from ancient technology. Read up on it before making more comparisons between it and ReiserFS.

but NTFS has some strange issues which must be fixed soon.

1. You can add a ADS to a file and the filesize doesn't grow

2. Hardlinks count twice in filesize, that's why all the n00bs think Vista is bloated, but that's an NTFS Bug and MS doesn't fix this. I can't understand why

Hi. Please pass this on to Microsoft:

1. There needs to be a way to easily copy a file or folder from one place to another. I release the side bar was SUPPOSED to do that, but it doesn't always expand to where you are. Sometimes I just want to copy the file to the last directory I was in. Why can't I copy to the top area? (the URL bar in internet explorer) Where it says: "My Computer > Program Files > Some Program > Music > Some Folder I don't need"

2. Why can't I move files in folders? I can move files and organize them on my desktop, but I can't move files around in a folder and organize it that way. I have to use "Sort By:" and that doesn't always work for what I need to do. For instance, zip up 3 particular files. I need to select them and zip them up. How would I do that without transferring them into another folder, or if the file is small, copy and paste?

3. Moving Files. Why so slow? Unless I'm doing it wrong, I move files by moving the file to the top or bottom of the folder, and then it will scroll down by itself. If it's a folder with lots of files it takes FOREVER to get all the way to the top from the bottom. Can't you activate using the mouse-wheel while dragging a file?

That's all I can think of for now.

Thanks,

Mike
