The REAL game starts... (Puzzle Box 1)

Well sorry if I've offended anyone :p I just think hints are more helpful to post than free answers..

And to clarify what I meant by an outstanding thread, 110 pages of pre-game speculations is really incredible :D and I was very pleased to participate in that.

You haven't offended anyone :) let me just explain... as far as its made out the competition still comes down to a prizedraw, so the odds are quite high.

This is more than just a competition, it's an adventure, and I for one want to share with everyone on here in the fun and excitement of it all...It's one thing to do it alone, but to be part of a team is even better :D

Ok good :D and if I'm not making much sense it's probably because I haven't slept for a while... :p these puzzles really are great

Dont worry about it :D the thing is the point you made was perfectly valid and true - people will come on here purely to get the answers and not contribute at all, thats a risk im happy to take participating in the forum.

go get some sleep fella ;P im off out to go do some errands :D

I should say that the hints everyone posted really were very helpful... I never would have gotten the workbench puzzle without the hint about Morse code, or been able to identify those hotels.. so I'm really not against the forum or anything :p

I've been trying to work out the puzzles myself, makes it alot more fun then just copy and pasting. Looking forward to next week in london, got the vista launch the 19th then whatever loki has in store for us on the 20th :D

Do we know the exact time for the London one? Now that the timers have gone?

Hi all!

I'm a little late jumping aboard, but just wanted to say "hi" to everyone! I started working on these puzzles yesterday evening before finding you all...

At any rate, Loki says in her e-mail message that we have found "play," which I take to mean that we need to find her work. And then we need to contact her there. She obviously doesn't mean Microsoft...any ideas?

Best,

fatherthespis

I haven't seen her full name, though "Loki" is in reference to the Nordic figure representing deception.

She said she had a quadruple major in physics, stage arts, history, and folklore. Not sure how important that is, unless it's a clue as to what we need to brush up on in order to solve the game...

As far as her employer, the only clue I've heard so far is that her employer was the only one to notice her unique GPA. Who would that be? If we can find out, I think we're supposed to contact her there...

Best,

fatherthespis

she has the major in drama/stage doesnt she?

I may have missed it but do we have her full name?

in the new video at the end of the puzzles, she says she "graduated with (?) ... physics, stage arts, history". did anyone catch the part I missed?

and I don't think we know her full name.. just loki, and the username lokivanishes in this forum, youtube, and some other places.

edit: fatherthespis answered all this... sorry i missed that :p

Its the last major that I can't quite here...anyone get it?

UPDATE: forget the above question.. just been answered a second later ;o)

It says historyy then folklore

She just says quadruple major

So it says "I graduated with a quadruple major Physics, Stage Arts, History, and Folklore

It suprises me there's no math major

physics, stage arts, history, and folklore -

the first box was all physics related, my guess is second will be stage arts related, third histroy and fourth folklore.

and wouldnt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loki count as folklore?

I completely agree. It makes sense also with the headings for each box

Magic

Memories

People Dissappear

Yep, that makes sense re: the majors.

Still, feels like we're missing how to contact her. She says she got a lot of calls from recruiters, but only one noticed her GPA was 3.1416. Any idea who that might be?

She also said in her e-mail that we need to "try harder"...do you suppose she meant that literally somehow?

why do we get three different email replies when we email her at microsoft.com?

when i emailed loki (at) microsoft.com, i got a really weird email back. anyone else get it? you'd know what it is if you did...

had a different name on it, along with a few phone numbers. i called one, and got an email back with the whole "not what i'm looking for", so i think it's a specific number sent to specific people....could be wrong though....

anyhow, lemme know plz...

why do we get three different email replies when we email her at microsoft.com?

my guess is an error, and Aaron Coldiron being somthign to do with actually setting up the whole game

Aaron Coldiron is a manager at microsoft, coinsidence? i think not

    • You're absolutely right! No reason in hell these should be on the road!
    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
