I guess this will be easier for first time install users that want to try it without having to delete their ntfs/fat32 partitions and create a linux partition.

Wasn't this technique used by BeOS(one of the most stable and usable OS, imo. sad it's gone now) many, many years ago?

As a last-ditch effort to increase interest in the failing operating system, Be Inc. released a stripped-down, but free, copy of BeOS R5 known as BeOS Personal Edition (BeOS PE). BeOS PE could be started from within Microsoft Windows or Linux, and was intended to nurture consumer interest in its product and give developers something with which they could tinker.

At the time, it was supposedly the best multimedia OS out there. It had a database-like filesystem where you could store arbitrary metadata and search it as you wish (sound familiar *cough* Spotlight, WinFS, Beagle *cough*). It was ahead of it's time, but certain factors (namely Apple and Microsoft) killed it.
