Pulp Fiction (1994)

Recommended Posts

I watched this movie for about 30 minutes and couldn't stand it anymore than that. Everything about it is just retarded.

Based upon that - I agree that something is retarded - but possibly not the film.

I adored it. Before Pulp Fiction, I had only watched more mainstream crap, comedies, holywood blockbusters, etc.

I sat in the cinema and was blown away, I was amazed at what I was seeing. This film taught me the meaning of "cool"...

" Do you know what they call 1/4 pounder with cheese in France?"

" no"

" Royalle with Cheese."

" Big Kahuna burger. That's that Hawaian burger joint. I hear they have some tasty burgers. I've never had one myself how are they?"

" What country you from? "

'what?'

"What ain't no country I ever heard of, do they speak english in what?"

'what?'

" English Mother F-'ker do you speak it?!!!!!!!!"

'yes!'

^ classic lines. :D

I know I may get flamed for this but what the hell, maybe I'll open a few eyes here.

Yes, Pulp Fiction is a great movie, it's however the only great movie QT has ever made. The guy is a hack who nowadays does nothing but steal stuff done before and done much better, but I guess if you haven't seen any HK ( 'A Better Tomorrow' 1&2, 'Bullet In The Head', etc etc) and Japanese ( 'The Yakuza Papers' comes to mind here) movies from the 60's, 70's and 80's you'll probably be totally ignorant of that fact. That's why he can get away with it and call his movies a tribute to....blah blah or inspired by...blah, blah, blah. The same goes for that grindhouse joke...but in the land of the blind one-eye is king I guess..

this movie is simply brilliant...

every character is just amazing and unique in their own way, all of the scenes are acted out thoroughly and as if whats happening is going on in real life, the humour is one of a kind, coming from all actors/actresses...

although the plot jumps around, how the story all ties in at the end of the movie is brilliant....saw it two nights before donnie darko, and both films are excellent, not comparable, yet pulp fiction is definitely one of the best, funniest, and most bizzare films i have ever seen in my life...

would see it again in a heartbeat...

This is one of my favorite movies ever. I think it is a masterpiece and I have seen it at least 10 times. The best part about the movie is that there are a lot of subtleties that you don't notice the first or even second time. Each time I watched the movie I had noticed something that I hadn't before. The story is great and I love how it isn't in chronological order. The overlapping of each of the 3 stories couldn't have been done better.

Of course all of the acting was perfect, Vince (John Travolta) and Jules (Sam Jackson) were both amazing and I think their best acting was in this movie. The dialogue in this movie is some of the best I have ever seen. There are so many memorable quotes and scenes throughout the movie.

I honestly couldn't recommend this movie anymore and anyone who hasn't seen it really needs to.

Quienten Tarantino's best, 10/10

Seen this movie so many times as well, in fact I'm gonna watch some scenes now - its so amazing everytime. This movie is my favourite movie of all time, it is my "citizen kane" - a true masterpiece and puts other movies to shame. Made me appreciate cinema a whole lot more as well.

I don't think he is. I think he is a self-indulgent film buff. But as such, puts together films that other film buffs can:

1) Enjoy

2) Then try to act all superior by saying "He ripped off..."

He seems like a kid playing, and his toys are movie techniques.

I disagree myself. I think he is genius too, simply because he's able to take some of the greatest parts of films, slap them together make some of the best films ever made. Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, From Dusk 'Til Dawn are all absolutely brilliant and I don't think anyone could have done a better or even equal job with those films.

QT is a kid playing, but that doesn't make him any less of a genius though. But that's my opinion; to each their own :D

I truly look forward to Inglorious Bastards, that film is going to rock!

    • Microsoft about to radically change how often your Edge browser updates by Paul Hill Microsoft has just announced that starting with Edge 152, it will be moving to a two-week release cycle for faster, smaller updates. This faster release cadence will begin on August 27. This change comes just several months after Microsoft switched Visual Studio Code to weekly updates. The company said that the Extended Stable releases will remain on an eight-week cycle and that no admin changes are needed to experience the faster release cycle on the Stable channel. The new two-week release cycle will enable the faster delivery of security updates and platform improvements, all while reducing the size and complexity of individual updates. Microsoft claims that organizations will benefit from this change as it offers predictable validation cycles. For organizations that prefer a “more deliberate pace”, the Extended Stable channel remains an option. This change will affect Edge Stable releases on Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. The Extended Stable channel will continue to be updated every eight weeks, or every fourth Stable release, for example: versions 152, 156, 160, and 164. The Extended Stable could be a good option for organizations that don’t want the latest updates twice a month and don’t want as much hassle constantly updating browsers. In the case of Visual Studio Code, many of the updates being pushed by Microsoft are AI-related. As we all know, Microsoft Edge has a lot of AI features, so we could see Microsoft pushing more AI, thanks to the faster cycles. On the flip side, quicker releases could mean faster security updates, which is beneficial in a world where AI systems are hunting for software exploits. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. For more updates on Edge, be sure to follow Neowin's coverage. In May alone, we reported on Edge offering in-browser pop-ups to assist users with website compatibility issues, that Edge was losing Copilot Mode, and that Microsoft had fixed a plain-text password bug in Edge. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future.
