Grand Theft Auto IV

Indeed it doesnt matter which console would be able to display the game better because in the end the game is the same, content is the saem (other than exclusive chapters), gameplay should be the same, and the console you play it on is already chosen when the console is purchased. Just be glad thsoe who have the 360 that its coming out on the 360.

the 360 will get exclusive chapters in the form of xbox live episodic content. M$ threw some money their way when sony didnt and sony dropped the ball, but thank god they did, cause now i dont have to buy an $800 system to play one of my fav franchises... fingers crossed for MGS franchise ;)

i think crackdowns graphics are better than gta IV's...and the framerate is smooth as butter, even on online co-op. the 360 can handle it....

please tell me your joking. I rented crackdown for a few weeks and loved the game, but u think it looks better than GTA? its got its own style, it was a complete cartoon and to me seemed easy to pull of because of that., GTA 4 looks a lot more realistic, now im not saying one is better than the other, but the reason the framerate on crackdown was soo smooth was because it was a more simple looking game IMHO

Hah, I am sorry to ask.. but, what platform will have these 'exclusive chapters'?

It has been confirmed the x360 version will have episodic content via LIVE - but rumors have been circling that the PS3 version will also have episodic content of its own..

I thought it was already confirmed and re-confirmed the PS3 will also have its own exclusive episodes

Nothing officially confirmed from Rockstar themselves (ie, Dan Hauser), but:

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=68768

According to a source close to Rockstar North, the team is working on exclusive supplemental content for both systems, which will be made available for download via Microsoft and Sony's respective online services after the game's release next year.

In case you missed it, Microsoft revealed at X06 that Xbox 360 owners will get "exclusive access to two downloadable, epic episodes of GTA IV via Xbox Live, each with hours of entirely new gameplay and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title".

We're told to expect much the same deal on PS3, except unique to the platform. Interestingly, the downloadable content, our source maintains, will take the form of brand new areas which will link into the main GTAIV game world.

"Think of the world as a large island - the new downloadable areas will be like smaller islands linking into it," the source explained. (Which is a structural analogy, rather than a suggestion that the game is set on an island, we hasten to add.)

Nice, while 360 ownders get added missions (episodes), seems like PS3 ownders get whole new areas bringing unique missions all connected to original world. Awesome news.

Well, some PS fans are guessing that's the case, but I think there will be a lot of crossover. I bet both console owners will be playing "exclusive" content supposed to be on the other console ;)

Hopefully PC owners will get all of it :shiftyninja:

You wont get anything - instead, you can have user created content like mods and the like..

If they do infact release two different exclusive contents I'm buying the game for both consoles :p

Same here :p

This is the guy who posted the LA NOIR trailer and everyone downloaded, including me. I'm still laughing over it.

Am I the only one who has never heard about these LA Noir videos? Quite a few people mentioned them, but I swear I have no idea what they are.

*Ok I watched both trailers off IGN.. It's a 40's based detective noire game? What, if anything does this have to do with GTA? Plus it seems like aside from the prerendered trailers there isn't any information about this game.

Nope nothing is known, other than it's a 40's detective game set in LA. It's got nothing to do with GTA other than it's made by Rockstar. I am really quite interested in it actually. A detective game would be pretty cool!!

But sadly I think it's a PS3 exculsive, for the moment anyway.

I got a good laugh from the LA Noire incident - especially seeing people's reactions after they downloaded the trailer.

Don't tar and feather him, though. I think Digix was just as upset as everyone else. I have to say that it was an interesting trailer, though. I didn't know anything about the game.

As far as GTA. I'm really hyped for the game even though I probably haven't gotten past 20% in any of the games. Can't wait until the next Game Informer arrives in the mail.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
