Although the Watchmen panel itself didn?t yield many answers as to what would be happening with all of the extra footage being shot for Watchmen, such as the Black Freighter comic book and various text essays from the graphic novel, Zack Snyder did end up revealing his current game plan later on in the day at the Entertainment Weekly Visionaries session.

It was already announced that there would be an animated Black Freighter movie being released around the time when Watchmen hits cinemas, but apparently the extent of its involvement in the Watchmen mythology won?t end there. Snyder made mention that they?ve also filmed the transitions featured in the graphic novel that take the main storyline into the Freighter comic. So even though those wouldn?t be a part of the theatrical cut, they would show up the ?super duper director?s cut,? as would the other creations they?ve been working on.

Being that the film is already running at about 3 hours, and Warner Bros. wants to cut it down to 2 and a half, this makes me wonder if they?ll actually be releasing two different director?s cuts: one with the original cut of the film, and one with the extended new cut. If that were the case, that would mean the extended version would probably be running at about 5 hours or more. As much as I love all things Watchmen related, that does not sound ideal. I would love to see Snyder?s full 3 hour cut, but adding in more content beyond that seems excessive. I understand the desire to incorporate the outside footage, but I don?t want to see the flow of the storyline get repeatedly chopped up by hopping between that and stuff that?s only thematically related. I assume it?s issues like these that made creator Alan Moore claim the graphic novel was unfilmable. Some of the things he did with the comic are things you just cannot translate straight to a movie. Which isn?t to say I?m not excited to see the extra footage; I just think the segments will operate more smoothly as its own entity.

When asked about the running time debacle, Snyder had this to say:

?I want to make the best movie I can. I want to put pressure on myself as a filmmaker and say, ?What?s the coolest movie?? And if the coolest movie is 3-hours long then that?s the coolest movie. I understand and respect my partners at Warner Bros. I want them to have financial success with the film. You know, when you look at it that way, they invested a lot of money into it, they want it to be good. But on the other hand, I would tell them that I think the very things they think are too long, or too violent, or too sexy are the very reasons to go to the movie.?

Snyder was also quick to point out a noticeable development since the release of the film?s trailer.

?[The graphic novel] is #1 or #2 on Amazon right now, and that?s awesome. I think that if in the end the movie is a 3-hour advertisement for the book, then so be it. I succeeded.?

Am I the only one that finds the costumes too much like the nipples on Clooneys Batman?

The whole point really is its set in an earlier time so suits aren't easy to come by so they will look retro.

Yeah I edited my post after I checked IMDB. But I still say when he's using the flamethrower in the trailer it looks JUST like him (to me).

It's strange actually I always thought they looked alike, my hopes are immensely high for this movie!

One of the most talked about trailers to emerge from last weekend?s Comic-Con convention in San Diego was the teaser for ?Watchmen.? Now all over YouTube (and playing nationwide in theaters before blockbusters such as ?The Dark Knight?), the trailer features a melancholy, semi-obscure Smashing Pumpkins song titled ?The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning? (not to be confused with the more upbeat ?rock? version, ?The End Is the Beginning Is the End? that appeared over the closing credits of ?Batman & Robin?).

Confused yet?

So are thousands of fans of the storied graphic novel. According to Zack Snyder, who directed ?Watchmen? (and ?300″), the song will not appear in the film. The director says he chose the song for the mood.

Regardless, the response toward the trailer has been massive online ? earning accolades (and a huge iTunes sales spike for the Pumpkins) for how the dark lyrical content and feel of the song meshes with the stunning visuals from the forthcoming film.

We were curious what Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan thought of the attention from both old and new fans (many of whom have been unable to identify Corgan?s signature growl in the tune from just watching the trailer) regarding the resurrection of ?The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning.?

According to Corgan, who responded to questions by e-mail, he has already asked if the band can release the song as a video. More thoughts on the song from

I just got a call one day asking if I was cool with it, and I was surprised because it?s a version of that song that never seemed to get any notice. Months before the trailer was released I kept hearing from friends in the movie business that they loved how the song worked with the images from the movie. I love the way it?s used in the trailer. I?ve asked the movie people if it?s possible we could release it as a music video. Still waiting on that one. Certainly the massive jump in on-lFinally, when can we expect to hear ?G.L.O.W.? or any other new SP material?lly, when can we expect to hear ?G.L.O.W.? or any other new SP material?

Just finished recording ?G.L.O.W.? in Memphis at the famed Ardent Studios and hope to release it in early September. We feel we have finally turned the corner with these last 2 releases (?American Gothic? and ?G.L.O.W.? to come) where it?s starting to feel like our music again, and not theirs, whoever ?they? might be. Have plans to start recording a new multi-year, multi-release concept album by the end of this year. It will be very trippy and hopefully unique, and we?ll probably keep putting out singles here

Those posters are awesome!

Does anyone have the Absolute Watchmen version of the book. It's basically the same but bigger, and with updated colouring... even though I have the standard one, I am tempted to get this one.

I have the normal book I paid a fair bit for and still haven't read it!

The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine.       Five things you might have missed during Apple's WWDC 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Image: Apple Apple's annual developer event, WWDC 2026, happened from June 8 through June 12. We have already covered several new features and updates that the iPhone maker unveiled during the official keynote. Apple took Google's help and finally announced the upgraded Siri AI personal assistant, which now comes with an app. Moreover, a truckload of Apple Intelligence features took the center stage. That said, this year's WWDC is a bit different, and you might have noticed or missed the following stuff: Apple's ongoing unification of platforms Image: Apple One thing Apple is widely known for is its seamless hardware-software ecosystem. The company added a new chapter in 2020, when it began the Apple Silicon transition and launched macOS 11 Big Sur with native ARM support. Some major changes happened last year as well, when Apple renamed all of its operating systems to version 26 and introduced the Liquid Glass design language. Until WWDC 2025, Apple keynotes had dedicated segments for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other operating systems, in which the company discussed each in detail. The WWDC 2026 keynote was different, and Apple allotted most of the screen time to Apple Intelligence and Siri. It didn't even publish separate press releases on its website for different operating systems. While it might seem surprising at first, it shows how Apple plans to move forward with its software ecosystem. Be it the Liquid Glass changes, child safety updates, or other features, they are mostly rolling out across multiple platforms. It's easy to rule out that someone in Apple's marketing team forgot to press the publish button. Everything is a calculated move when it comes to a company like Apple. Putting Apple Intelligence left, right, and center hints that the OS itself is no longer the product anymore. It's Siri, not Pepsi Time and again, various Apple products have been compared to unrelated things and turned into meme material. You might have heard about the "cheese grater" Mac Pro or the "trash can" Mac Pro, to name a few. It's Siri's turn this time. The upgraded AI assistant got a fresh logo, and people have started comparing it with Pepsi. There are other contenders, such as the Sony Ericsson logo and the Yin and Yang symbol. Shot on iPhone. Even NASA astronauts took it to Space earlier this year and captured some out-of-this-world photos. The 'Pro' iPhone has also been used to shoot Apple events in recent years. It's unsurprising to see Apple flexing the camera capabilities of its Pro models, especially when it has been baking professional-grade features, including ProRes RAW and Genlock. Hints for the foldable Apple has been sitting on the foldable iPhone for so long. There is still confusion over when the company will make it official. A recent report said that the iPhone Fold might get delayed as Apple is struggling to perfect its hinge mechanism. But Apple has been dropping hints here and there. A developer dug into the iOS 27 beta code and found internal references about device folding states. As verified by Macworld, the code includes references to "foldState" and "angleDegrees" internal status values, which are apparently designed to tell apps if a device is folded and at what angle. As of now, no other Apple device uses these states. The publication also found internal code suggesting Apple has been testing a device with both Touch ID and Dynamic Island, a combo that doesn't exist today. Last event as Apple CEO Image: Apple Tim Cook's bond with Apple is now almost three decades old, having started in 1998 as the SVP of Worldwide Operations. Back in August 2011, Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple CEO months before his passing, and Cook took charge. Now, the baton has been passed to the hardware chief, John Ternus, who will take over the role on September 1. WWDC 2026 is the last major Apple Event for Tim Cook as CEO. We have seen so much during Cook's tenure over the years, much of which defines Apple as we know it today.
