How to take pictures of buildings?

I need some inspiration on taking photos of buildings, especially as i'll be in Venice next week :D Can anyone provide tips on how to take good images of large buildings (palaces etc), such as good angles etc?

Well ideally, you want a tilt and shift lens, but not everyone can really afford one of them. Try to get a sense of scale in your pictures by either including people or going right backwards to show the surroundings.

Also, focus on the details. If you've got a telephoto lens you can do some nice closeups of interesting patterns.

I agree. A 12-24mm f/4 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 would be my combinaison

Wide angle and low perspective works really well. Just get down on your knees or something like that. :)

go further back then normally but dont tilt your camera forward or backward to fit all the building in cause it causes some sort of distortion or something.

personally, I dont care about distortion, softwares can easily fix that!
