Hey duke,

I used your program to add BLC07. THanks. I was trying Ryan's. But, unfortunately it never worked. It said something about error with tempexport.reg or something. However, your program was simple and easy to just add away a new game. Thanks dude.

Hi vraev - can you PM me with more info on that - it's the first time anyone has had any probs with that part of the program - so I'd be interested to see what's causing it.

Also - would it be too much to ask everyone whether or not they have the UAC (User Account Control) turned on or off (just a quick survey)? Thanks

Hey Ryan,

I have all my vista settings as default so everything is ON.

HOWEVER, there is one issue...for some reason... all folders are like on READ ONLY. I had this issue in xp which is why I reformatted. I then got myself my new original vista ultimate and installed it. Unfortunately, even though its nice and formatted...I still get the problem.

I manually had to remove read only. But, even after that I get that error.

Get in contact with me via email and I'll see if I can sort anything out.

Most likely - a permissions issue is stopping VGEE from creating the tempexport.reg file in the Program Files dir.

Try right/click the C:\ - goto Properties\Security and take ownership of the drive.

Don't worry about it mate. I reformatted my PC incl all the backup partions and so on. I do not want to put any more games on for now. I was fooling around with installing many games, playing them hardly once or twice and uninstalling. SUrely, the pc did get bogged down. I rather have a nice and fast vista. :) Thanks for the help though. :)

Ryan,

I have the same problem as vraev. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and I have an admin account (the only account).

Also, is there no way at all to change the ESRB rating? Or just get rid of it? Because Madden 08 sure doesn't deserve to be rated M... But all my other games are M, except for the ones that came with Vista. Could I somehow copy the rating from like Solitare?

The next version of VGEE is due for release very soon - here's what I have added:

-Update checker - I won't necessarily need to post here everytime something get's updated as this version will automatically check for updates when you start it (if you're online).

-Version #. Down the bottom right you can now easily see what version of VGEE you're running. If you click it you can manually check for updates (if nothing happens then there are no updates found).

If any update to VGEE is found - you will be asked if you want to download and install the latest version (although you'll have to uninstall the old version yourself in your own time). In order to check for updates - VGEE downloads a small text file (less than 1kb) that contains a number representing the latest version - if that number is higher than the one built-into the app then it'll ask you to update. (Tested)

-A fix for the bug experienced by vraev and others here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...amp;p=588801979

The tempexport.reg file is now stored elsewhere - then deleted when finished with. (Not tested yet)

- A simple export function has been added. You can only re-import the info on the same Windows Account on the same PC for now (but It's better than nothing). I'll improve the functionality of this later. (Tested)

- View/Chage icon. I'm still working on this bit - otherwise I'd release VGEE right now. I need to find some code to use to extract icons from .exe files in VB.NET and then display it in a picture box (feel free to assist here - I've been googling for a few hours no joke). (Obviously not tested)

- Repair VGE. A few people have recently asked me what they have to delete in order to remove everything from their VGE and 'start afresh.' There's now a function in VGEE that does this for you if you wish. You can access it from the 'Load game' screen. (Not tested yet).

When I release this version in the next few days - I'll need some of you to test out the new features, report bugs, and provide suggestions for improvement. Your best bet in making contact with me is via GoogleTalk. If I'm online you can chat/IM using your Gmail account from the Gmail website, from the widget on my website, or by downloading GoogleTalk.

Hope to hear from you all soon. (When you reply please tick the 'Enable email notification of replies?' checkbox) :)

If you run VGEE Beta 2.10 - you should see that an update is available. If you're at home please run VGEE Beta 2.10 to test this feature. If you're at work - then you can get it from my website.

I've fixed a bug in VGEE Beta 2.10 - in relation to the last bug I fixed (forgot to update a section of code). - Don't attempt to add a new game in the old version.

I've also added support for changing the icon - I expect big thanks for that :)

I'm looking for people to test this and leave feedback. My ToDo list is now empty concerning VGEE - which means it's almost time to release the FINAL VERSION!!! Deadline for any further suggestions is this Thursday 11:59pm (give or take a few hours for time difference).

If anyone is online right now - please let me know (my website now has a form that you can use to email me). There's a few specific things I'd like you to try out (take a few mins at most).

Regards,

Ryan R

    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep. Songs of Conquest is a turn-based 4X strategy game where you'll be managing a kingdom, making tough decisions, and taking down enemy forces in tactical combat. On the same day, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks will join in as the next freebie. Another Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing a refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The June selection is Octopath Traveler 2, The Riftbreaker, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, INDIKA, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Construction Simulator, Hell Clock, and Overlooting to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on July 6, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. The Humble Store also brought in standard gaming collections this week. The IGN Live Bundle kicked things off with games like Control, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blair Witch, Rollerdrome, and The Last Campfire for $10. At the same time, the We Will Always be Here bundle carried in titles like Bad End Theater, Thirsty Suitors, Vampire Therapist, and Tavern Talk for $12. Next, the 2K Sports Champions Bundle comes touting games like NBA 2K26, PGA TOUR 2K25, OlliOlli World Rad Edition, and TopSpin 2K25 with a hefty $25 price tag.
