Here are some examples of custom styles/themes that you can use after patching.

You just have to copy them to your C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder

I love the wallpaper with the tree. And the Vista clock and small date display. Where can I get? Thanks :)

Wow this sucks ... the site has been down for 2 days now.

Anyone mind emailing this to me? teflon114 at gmail dot com

Thanks

Our website is having some hardware problems.

The hoster is working on it, hope to get it up again tomorrow.

Edit: Site is back online!

Nothing new or original. Just modified a byte in the style to tell the OS not to color it black. I love how people make a tiny modification to a copyrighted work and call it thier own.

You're right the patch can be done manually. We've created this tool to make it easier for people to patch/unpatch their system. So they don't have to worry about the setting ownership, copying files etc :)

I however don't understand what "copyrighted work" you are referring to

Your work on this patch is very much appreciated. I've known about the manual patching but I had some problem trying to get it to work. This is a much more efficient way to share this hack.

In a few days we will start looking at an update for VistaGlazz.

If you have any suggestions, be sure to post them here or on our forum on our website

It seems that when i patched both my system files and my aero files, i was given a nice small speed boost :D

Edit: I noticed my taskbar is looks kinda werid. By the start bar it has some kind of werid color to it, then by the time it has the right colors

I unpatched my files and now i can only get classic theme, my aero is broken.

Did you manually patch your system and now try to unpatch with VistaGlazz?

Microsoft signed the Aero.msstyle that is patched by the second step in our program. When VistaGlazz patches the file, it creates a backup, and when it unpatches it restores that backup.

When you have manually patched your msstyle, and want to unpatch using VistaGlazz, VistaGlazz will detect that there is no backup file, and will simply unpatch the file. However it can't restore the signed state of the file. Result: Windows Classic look.

I think you should be fine when you manually restore your Aero.msstyle file.

If you still encounter problems, please PM/mail me.

Weird color? Do you have a screenshot for me? :)

Using Aero:

..looks like and olive color then slowly fades into some kind of blue-green color near the clock

Using the Vista Basic coloring system:

When using Aero, the color mixer does not help into getting my becoming fully black as it once was. Before i applied this patch, my taskbar remain black when using Aero and Basic

The difference in colour wouldn't be your wallpaper showing through the taskbar by any chance? I'm just taking a guess

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
