TRANSFORMERS Photos of the Bots from the movie

Check out this guy who made a video about how he hates the trailer. LMAO this guy needs to find a girl fast.

you guys should check out the response to that video. He rants about The Transformers trailer and he's right. That's what a Trailer/teaser should do. The other guy needs to go to hell.

They look soooo stupid. They look like some stupid insects or something. Why in the hell wouldn't they go with the classic, old school look? Obviously that's what the fans want. I won't even be bothering with this movie now, and I was a HUGE Transformers fan when I was a kid and have been looking forward to this movie for years. Idiots. Good way to make sure the film will totally bomb.

You guys forget that the movie needs to make money. So if alienating a few die hard fans by making the robots look ultra futuristic gets them a bigger audience, the choice is obvious.

Personally, I like the new images. As someone said on the last page, its their actions/character that are important.

would of been cool if they made Megatron at least transform into some type of gun but in proportion to the others.... like a huge CANON or something that can either move around on the ground or be carried by another decepticon.

AKA Galvatron :D

While his video is a bit drawn out, he's absolutely right. This movie isn't a character study. It's not about reliving your childhood. It's about 30 foot robots beating the shiat out of each other. A huge budget and that rather simple premise pretty much guarantee box office success. Diehard fans can complain about "he's not a cab-over design", "bumblebee's not a VW", "where's unicron?", "megatron's not a gun", "why no energon?", etc etc etc, but guess what? no one really cares. Hell, even as a diehard fan myself, I don't care. I know all that stuff already. Why would I want to spend $10 and have the same 20 years of Transformers canon regurgitated back at me?

BTW, when one of the trailers showed what I presume to be Starscream fly under a bridge, transform, and flip up onto it, I kinda had a moment.

it's because they are going for a realistic look.

I think people that complain about things like this aren't really fans of 'Transformers' as a whole, but rather they're simply fans of a mid-80's cartoon. The Transformers universe is much bigger than just that one cartoon. In fact, it could be argued that the most 'un-Transformers' thing they could have done was to go back to a previous character design, as every incarnation of the Transformers has always used a new and modified character design for any returning characters. Sure, it's mostly an excuse to create new toys, but the toys are most of the fun when it comes to Transformers.

When Optimus Prime changes every 2 years, what is tradition, really?

"realistic" hah what a joke see Macross Pluss for realistic mecha

what? we're talking about the realism of the transformation, as in Megatron transforming into a handgun is not realistic. Soundwave transforming into a small boombox is not realistic. And by 'realistic' we obviously don't mean it's feasible for such a robot to exist, we're saying that if said robot did exist, its transformation into its alternate form is conceivable, given the construction and mass of the robot.

God, what a geek-out.

From what I've seen of the transformations in Macross, they're even less realistic than those of the G1 transformers. The jets just sort of turn into robots, there's no real transformation going on at all.

I think its more that most people who fondly remember the Transformers remember Season 1/2 and the movie(.) No one except the Japanese seem to care about what came later cause I know I sure don't. Everything put out after the first movie = lame so why bother with a continuation of something no one cares about anyway.

As such I think this film should be renamed to "Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers" to better represent the lame reincarnation that Bay has concocted.

No one but the Japanese care about anything other than G1 because you don't care about anything other than G1. That's some heavy duty logic, right there.

Look around at the Transformers fan sites. Almost all of them deal with the entire Transformers universe, not just the G1 cartoon and movie. And it's not just Japanese fans.

you're a joke. Macross is an anime, how dare you compare it to Real Life/Live Action.

when they made Macross Pluss they asked people who knew what they were talking about so rly its better than live action

In order to capture the essence of aerial combat, Shoji Kawamori and the production staff traveled to Edwards Airbase in Palmdale, CA, to study and test-fly American fighter jets. They also used San Francisco, CA, Orlando, FL, and the Windmill Farm in Palm Springs, CA, as the basis for planet Eden's landscape designs.

Yes. The consulted experts on jet flight. Not experts on giant transforming robots. You're trying to inject a completely different topic into this thread, and it's not working.

Are you going to tell me, with a straight face, that the transformations from Macross Plus's dogfight scenes are more realistic that those shown in the Transformers trailers? That's what we're talking about, not the realism of jet flight.

Oh, and having a jet fire a hundred missiles at once? Not exactly realistic either.

All the arguing over how imaginary transforming robots should look more like cars and airplanes or look more "realistic" makes my brain hurt. You people need to get a grip.

I for one am glad Optimus doesn't look like an upright 18-wheeler with two windshields that look like breasts. The robots look more ominous, overpowering, and sinister then ever. It gives the movie a darker, more serious tone; which was the whole point to begin with (to draw a bigger audience).

I'll go see the movie. And, even if it's just a special effects buffet without a good screenplay or any character development I'll still enjoy it. I feel bad about all the people saying they'll skip it just because they have a stubborn view of how things should look.

do you have any idea what I was saying? I was saying visiually, the look of the Transformers. Not how they transform. The visual look will give a realistic feel to it.

    • So, recently, I saw on the news (yes, on this website) that Samsung is introducing features where it can provide education using AI-powered sets, and because of this, I got concerned about whether the AI gives out wrong info during education sessions, causing controversies in the process. What are your thoughts on this?
    • TCL's Bang & Olufsen soundbar is 40% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The TCL Design Series A65K is currently $299.99, down from $499.99. That's 40% off and $200 saved on a soundbar tuned by Bang & Olufsen, which is not a combination you'd normally expect at this price point (purchase link below). Bang & Olufsen doesn't typically show up in the sub-$500 category. The Danish audio brand is known for speakers that cost several times more, so having their acoustic tuning on a $300 soundbar is very appealing. TCL handles the hardware, B&O handles the sound engineering, and the result is what the company calls "accessible luxury." Still, accessible luxury isn’t full-fledged luxury, so don’t expect wonders. But this is a decent soundbar, nevertheless. The A65K is a true 3.1.2 channel system with nine physical drivers, including genuine up-firing height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Many soundbars at this price simulate overhead effects through virtual processing, rather than actual hardware. So, you’re getting the real deal. The design is unusually slim for a system with Atmos compatibility. The bar is just under 2 inches deep and should fit beneath most TV screens. The wireless subwoofer is also compact at roughly 14 x 14 x 5 inches. Total output is 460W, and you can connect to the soundbar via HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 5.3, or USB. There are also eight sound modes through the TCL Home app and an AI calibration capability. Although it’s worth mentioning that AI capabilities in most of these devices are inconsistent, to say the least, and that shouldn’t be the biggest selling point. Still, at $299.99, the A65K is a strong buy for anyone who wants a soundbar that sounds and looks noticeably better than what this price range usually offers. And the Bang & Olufsen branding surely sounds nice - pun intended.
