p858snake Posted April 17, 2007 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Police car stolen after brawl Police car stolen after brawlA MAN will face court today after allegedly stealing a police van and leading officers on a chase through Brisbane this morning. A 20-year-old will appear to face charges of the unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evading police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and other offences. The incident began about 3am when police were called to break up a brawl on the corner of George and Turbot streets, in the city. It is alleged while police were trying to break up the fight, a man gained access to a police van and drove off. He was later apprehended in Newstead after a short pursuit. No one was injured in the incident Six people were arrested for public nuisance offences from the original disturbance in George Street.
